Safety Stand Down at Naval Base San Diego
The next Safety Stand Down will be conducted at the annual Summer Safety Fair, held
Wednesday May 23, 2012 at Mariner’s Park from 1000-1400. Join us for a fun day of guest
speakers featuring summer safety topics, vendors promoting safety products, and free lunch!
All hands are warmly invited to attend.
The Safety office has noticed that several individuals are not wearing seatbelts when
operating golf carts.
SEAT BELTS ARE MANDATORY BUCKLE UP!
A few specific golf cart safety suggestions:
When you first pile into your cart, read over the "warnings" or "safety guidelines" stickers or text that most golf carts come with. And observe those rules! They serve as good reminders.
Keep your arms and legs inside the cart when the cart is in motion.
If you are the driver, don't press on the accelerator until your passengers are seated.
Watch the road! Sounds simple, but just as a driver on a highway can be distracted by something and lose sight of the road, so can golf cart drivers.
The annual Summer Safety Fair will be held on
Wednesday May 23, 2012 at Mariner’s Park
(across the street from the NEX & Commissary)
from 1000-1400. This year’s guest speakers will
focus on home and summer safety topics while
over 50 vendors promote safety products.
Last year, over 3,000 attendees enjoyed raffle
prizes and free lunch! Come out and join us!
Parking is limited, so take advantage of the shuttles
that will be provided.
Routes and further details to follow.
