Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) are fast becoming a drivers of inno-vation in technology, and they play an important role in economic developmentof a growing country. Businesses that acquire modernization cannot fully func-tion without the help of information technology, which it is quite essential for thesurvival and growth of economies in general. Adaptation of a data managementsystem for a business firm is a big factor that can be used for a fast and easybusiness transaction and processing results but considering its current price in themarket, it may not be affordable for startup business. The study focused on datamanagement system that is a configurable web-based application that can handledata based on the required set of procedures. This study integrated the concepts ofdistributed system algorithms in the developed data management system to defineand find a solution for handling data responsibilities and techniques that can beused to solve the challenges encountered in this algorithm.

This paper presents a developed web-based decision support system that im-plements a multi-criteria decision analysis, the Analytic Network Process (ANP)as modeling tool in screening and selection of agencys priority projects for inclu-sion in annual budget proposal. Screening and selection of priority projects forinclusion in the annual budget proposal of the government is a complex decision-making that involves many stakeholders with conflicting priorities and dynamicpreferences, as well as limited technical information. Government decision mak-ing becomes more complicated because of the complexities carried by the peopleinvolved in the process, and other factors that contribute to balancing of political,technical, and economic considerations. The application of Multi-Criteria Deci-sion Analysis (MCDA) methods for decision makers helps them facilitate the sys-tematic treatment of information, inform those involved in the process, and comeup with effective decisions in complex circumstances. Development of decisionsupport system that implements MCDA tools such as Analytic Network Process(ANP) modeling techniques in screening and selection of priority projects helpsmanage this complexity and makes decision-making efficient, effective, and trans-parent. The study used a pre-defined set of criteria identified during the progressof the study.

The aim of this study is to searching the antibacterial properties from threeselected fish gills, collected from Sur coastal waters, Sultanate of Oman. Thereare three commonly available different types of fresh fishes. These types werecollected from Sur local market and the gills were separated alone in asepti-cally. The standard extraction method was followed, hence three different po-larity solvents such as, Ethanol, Ethyl acetate and Chloroform were used. Allcrude extracts were tested for their antibacterial activity (by standard disc diffu-sion method) against the six selected animal pathogens, Aeromonas salmonicida,Staphylococcus auroea, Aeromonas vronii, Vibrio vulnificus, Vibrio cholera andVibrio parahemolyticus. The pathogens were obtained from fish quality controlcenter, Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries Wealth, Muscat, Oman. Out of thethree solvent extracts, Ethyl acetate extract showed prominent activity against fewpathogens, but other solvent extracts, like Chloroform and Ethanol showed traceactivity against few pathogens, meanwhile chosen ethyl acetate extract was forthe further antibacterial screening and observed the inhibition zone against thepathogen. The experiments were repeated for three times and the best activitywas noted as, 5 mm and 4 mm of inhibition zone, which was observed againstAeromonas salmonicida and Staphylococcus auroea respectively and 3 mm zoneof inhibition.

Hotel industry as part of travel and tourism businesses offers importantcontribution to the economy. In Thailand, hotel industry is one of key economicdrivers. From human resource management (HRM) perspective, luxury hotels(e.g. five-star hotels) offer great career opportunity and advancement for employ-ees. Since hotels require competent talents to work for them to achieve businessgoals, they should learn how to motivate and retain employees. Organizationalcareer management (OCM) is an appropriate method for enhancing employeescompetencies and it can assist employees to accomplish their career progression.In practice, the hotels should develop and implement strategies based on a sustain-able model of organizational career management practices. This paper highlightsrelevant literature and it had systematically categorized the criteria used in devel-oping a model of organizational career management. It proposed a model whichcould be useful for future researchers and practitioners who are involved in careermanagement policy and practices.
