AlwaysusetheACadapterandpowercordsuppliedasastandardaccessoryoroptional(AC-A312),andconnectittoindoorACoutletofratedvoltage100-240V 50/60Hz.FailuretofolloweitherofthesemayresultindamagetoinstrumentorACadapter,fireorelectricshock.

Insertthepowerplugfullyandsecurely.Ifthepowerplugisnotpushedcompleteinsertingmaycausefireorelectricshock.

Ifthisinstrumentisnotusedforalongtime,disconnectACadapterfromACoutlet.AccumulateddirtorwateronprongsofACadapterplugmaycausefire.Besuretoremovebeforeuse.

IntroductionThankyouforpurchasingour2DColorAnalyzerCA-2500series.Thisinstrumentmeasuresunevennessofluminanceandcoloronvariousdisplayunitorprojector,backlightandcarinstrumentpanelin2dimension.Read this manual carefully before use."CA-2500"andCA-2500Sareappliedas representativeexamples for explanationand illustrationrespectively in this instruction manual. Only those with different specification are indicated model by model.

Packaging materialRetainaccompanyingpackagingmaterials(carton,protector,andplasticbag)forfutureuse.This isdelicatemeasurement instrument.Usepackagingmaterialssupplied inpurchasing incasethisinstrumentneeds tobe transferred forsuchpurposeasmaintenance inKonicaMinolta-authorizedservice facility. These packaging materials are useful for minimizing shock or vibration to this instrument insuchsituation.Shouldanyofthesepackagingmaterialsbelostorbroken,contactthenearestKonicaMinolta-authorizedservicefacility.

with no condensation. Operating this instrument outside specified temperature and humidity range may unsatisfy its original performance.

lDonotusethisinstrumentataltitudesabove2000meters(6560ft).lEven if theproduct isusedwithin thespecifiedoperating temperature/humidity range, thedisplayedvaluesmaybeaffectedby long-termconditionsofuse. Lens and filter inside lens mount on bodyl Be sure that there is no dirt on surface of lens and filter inside lens mount on body before measurement. Correctmeasurementresultcannotbeobtainedifdirt,dustorhandsoilisleftoruncleaned.

l Do not touch surface of lens and filter inside lens mount on body with hand.l Lens and filter inside lens mount on body could become fogged up if ambient temperature fluctuates under

high humidity. Be careful not to generate such condition for correct measurement cannot be performed.

StorageBodyl Coverlensmountwithstandardaccessorymountcoverinstoringlensinremovedstate.l Do not store this instrument under direct sunlight or near heater. The internal temperature of this

instrument could become much higher than ambient temperature which may break this instrument.l Storethis instrumentatambient temperaturebetween0ºCand30ºCandrelativehumidity70%or lesswithnocondensationorbetween30ºCand35ºCandrelativehumidity55%orlesswithnocondensation.Storageunderhightemperatureandhumiditymaydeteriorateperformanceofthisinstrument.Foraddedsafety, we recommend storage with a drying agent at room temperature.

l Eveniftheproductisstoredwithinthespecifiedstoragetemperature/humidityrange,thedisplayedvaluesmaybeaffectedbylong-termconditionsofstorage.Ifyouhaveanyquestionaboutspecification,pleasecontactthenearestKonicaMinolta-authorizedservicefacility.

l Takecarenottoformcondensation.Avoidrapidchangeinambienttemperaturewhentransferringbodyfor storage.

l Putbodyinpackagingboxsuppliedwhenpurchasedoroptionalsoftcase(CA-A60)tostoreinsafeplace.

Lensl Coverlenswithlenscap,orlenshoodwithhoodcapforstorage.lWhenyouremovelensfrombodyforstorage,coverlenswithlenscapandmountcap.

Temperature/Humidity conditions under which the instrument is used and storedIt is recommended that the instrumentbeusedandstoredunderstandardconditions (Temperature:23ºC;Relativehumidity:40%),andthatareassubjecttohightemperatureand/orhumiditybeavoided.Inadditioninordertomaintainthemeasurement accuracy of this instrument, it is recommenced that it be inspected regularly about once a year. For details onhavingtheinstrumentinspected,pleasecontactthenearestKonicaMinolta-authorizedservicefacility.

Even if theproduct isusedwithin thespecifiedoperating temperature/humidity rangeorstoredwithin thespecifiedstoragetemperature/humidityrange,thedisplayedvaluesmaybeaffectedbylong-termconditionsofuseorstorage.Iftheinstrumentisleftunderthefollowinghigh-temperatureconditionsforalongperiodoftime,thedisplayedvaluesmaychangeasfollows:

Thesedifferences indisplayvaluesaredue to the instrumentmaterialsand/orcomponentsbeingaffectedby thetemperatureandhumidityconditionsof long-termuseorstorage. Inparticular,optical filtersareeasilyaffectedbytemperatureorhumidity.Althoughmeasureshavebeentakentoimproveresistancetotemperature/humiditychanges,theaccumulatedeffectoflong-termuseorstoragemayaffectthedisplayedvalues.

Operation procedure

1. Remove mount cover from lens mount on body.

2. Place lens on lens mount before rotating clockwise.lBesuretoinsertlensstraightly.Ifforciblyput

aslant, lens mount could be broken. lRevolvelensuntilfixed.

For CA-2500A, CA-2500T, CA-2500ST, or CA-2500WTInusingamacroringforeitherofCA-2500A,CA-2500T,CA-2500ST,orCA-2500WT,sandwich it between lens and lens mount.

3. Align 2 pins of lens hood and 2 holes of body. Then, insert lens hood as if it covers lens. Finally, rotate screw portion of lens hood clockwise.lSelect appropriate lens hooddepending

on lens type. Inappropriate lenshoodmaycause the lens head to be positioned back from the lens hood, which leads to incorrect measurement.
