PROGRAM OVERVIEWThis program is designed to assist physicians in caring for patients with common and complex cardiovascular problems with emphasis on practical incorporation of the most recent advances into clinical practice.

PROGRAM OBJECTIVESThe following address the ACGME/ABMS “Medical Knowledge” and “Compassionate, Appropriate & Effective Patient Care” Competencies: Upon completion of this program, attendees should be able to better evaluate and manage: congestive heart failure; devices used in heart failure; new treatments for heart failure; cardiomyopathies; acute and chronic coronary artery disease syndromes; antiplatelet therapies for CAD; valvular heart disease; trans-catheter valve replacement/repair; atrial fibrillation; arrhythmias; novel anticoagulants; heparin monitoring and resistance; advanced treatments for DVT & PE; updated hypertension guidelines; preventive cardiology; lipids; cardiovascular risk of diabetes; interesting cardiac imaging cases; and recent trials and their impact on clinical practice.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND The course is intended for cardiologists, generalists, and all primary care providers/practitioners seeking an update in cardiovascular diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

FORMAT State of the art lectures, panel discussions, and focused workshops utilizing illustrative cases.

Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. HOTEL ACCOMMODATIONSOcean Edge Conference Center is located on Cape Cod in Brewster, Massachusetts. It is a one and one-half to two-hour drive from Boston or a 12-mile drive from the Barnstable Municipal Airport (Hyannis), which has daily air service from New York, Hartford, and Boston.

In addition to being an excellent conference facility, Ocean Edge offers multiple recreational activities, including a championship golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, exercise rooms, and biking and jogging trails.

A block of rooms has been reserved at a special rate for registrants attending this seminar. The block includes hotel rooms on the Mansion (ocean) side of the property, and villas on the (Villages) golf course side of the property. To reserve a room in this block, you must indicate that you are registered for the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Cardiology Conference.

Reservations and deposit must be made prior to May 22nd, directly with Ocean Edge. After May 22nd, reservations will be made on a space available basis. DIRECTIONS TO OCEAN EDGEPick-up Route 6 (Mid-Cape Highway) at the end of the Sagamore Bridge. Follow Route 6 to the Brewster/Harwich Exit, #10. Turn left onto Route 124 and follow to the intersection of Route 6A (approximately 10 minutes). From this point, it is 1.8 miles to Ocean Edge Resort & Golf Club.
