Recently completed worksThe demolition operations, which started onsite on Monday 24 October, have now been successfully completed and preparation for ground works are now also complete.

Forthcoming worksGround works on site commence early February 2017 and will be carried out by a new sub-contractor, Leander, over the next two months. Works they will carry out include:• Completing the removal of the wall and the footing along Christchurch Passage• Preparing ground levels and laying a stone layer over the ground to accept the piling rig for the works to the perimeter wall• Getting ready the front entrance access point for the delivery lorries• Preparing the ground at the front of the site in readiness for the tower crane base• Getting the access road through the site ready for the delivery of the piling rig and associated plant which is planned to arrive

on site in April

Piling works will then begin in April.

HoardingBranded hoarding will be installed around the site within the next week or so. The hoarding will include reference to the new name for 29 New End – Novel House – which has been chosen to reflect the significant literary history of Hampstead and its environs.

No works on the hoarding will take place before 9:30am. Whilst the new hoarding is being erected, the highway will be temporarily reduced in width. We will notify you of further details once the commencement date has been confirmed via the website and e-alerts. Please visit the website to sign up to the e-alerts if you would like to receive these and have not done so already.

Appointment of independent monitorAlistair Redler from Delva Patman Redler LLP has been appointed by Linton on behalf of the Construction Working Party (CWP) to independently assess the noise, dust and vibration monitors onsite.

Christchurch PassageChristchurch Passage was reopened on Monday 9 January following the completion of the temporary works, scaffold gantry and hoarding works. Lighting and CCTV cameras have been installed in the passageway for security purposes. Blenheim will be responsible for the upkeep of the passage including regular sweeping, putting salt down in case of slippery conditions and painting over any graffiti that might appear.
