    Testament make up the Holy Scriptures. GodTestament make up the Holy Scriptures. God

    2. THE TRINITY2. THE TRINITY

    There is one God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, aunity of three co-eternal Persons. God isimmortal, all-powerful, all-knowing, above all,and ever present. He is infinite and beyond

    human comprehension, yet known through hisself-revelation. He is forever worthy of worship,adoration, and service by the whole creation.

    There is only one God, yet we know him as

    three persons who are revealed in Scripture asthe Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. The

    Bible makes no attempt to resolve the riddle ofthe Trinity, the three in one.

    God is all-wise, all sufficient, and is worthy of our

    worship. He is:

    Eternal- He has always existed and always will.Psalm 90:2

    3. THE FATHER3. THE FATHER

    God the Eternal Father is the Creator, Source,

    Sustainer, and Sovereign of all creation. He is justand holy, merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and

    abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness. Thequalities and powers exhibited in the Son and theHoly Spirit are also revelations of the Father.

    God the Father is the Creator, Source,

    Sustainer and Ruler of all creation. He is in nosense detached or aloof from his created beingsand their needs but daily gives them life.

    Gods holiness and justice which requires that

    sinners be destroyed are mingled with his love,mercy, and grace that make forgiveness andsalvation available to all who will receive them.

    God the eternal Son became incarnate Jesus Christ.

    Through him all things were created, the character of

    God is revealed, the salvation of humanity isaccomplished, and the world is judged. Forever trulyGod, he became also truly man, Jesus the Christ. Hewas conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the virginMary. He lived and experienced temptation as a human

    being, but perfectly exemplified the righteousness andlove of God. By his miracles he manifested Gods powerand was attested as Gods promised Messiah.

    He suffered and died voluntarily on the cross

    for our sins and in our place, was raised fromthe dead, and ascended to minister in theheavenly sanctuary in our behalf. He will comeagain in glory for the final deliverance of his

    sending his Son, Jesus Christ, the promisedMessiah, to live on earth as a human being to

    5. THE HOLY SPIRIT5. THE HOLY SPIRIT

    God the Eternal Spirit was active with the Father andthe Son in Creation, incarnation, and redemption. Heinspired the writers of Scripture. He filled Christs lifewith power. He draws and convicts human beings; and

    those who respond he renews and transforms into theimage of God. Sent by the Father and the Son to bealways with his children, he extends spiritual gifts to thechurch, empowers it to bear witness to Christ, and inharmony with the Scriptures, leads it into all truth.

    The Holy Spirit is one person of the Godhead.

    He was active in the world even before Godcreated life on earth. He inspired the writing ofthe Bible.

    God is Creator of all things, and has revealed in

    Scripture the authentic account of his creative activity.In six days the Lord made the heaven and the earthand all living things upon the earth, and rested on theseventh day of that first week. Thus he established theSabbath as a perpetual memorial of his completedcreative work. The first man and woman were made inthe image of God as the crowning work of Creation,given dominion over the world, and charged with theresponsibility to care for it.

    the Bible gives the authentic account of his

    Man and woman were made in the image of God withindividuality, the power and freedom to think and to do.Though created free beings, each is an indivisible unityof body, mind, and spirit, dependent upon God for lifeand breath and all else. When our first parents

    disobeyed God, they denied their dependence upon himand fell from their high position under God. The image ofGod in them was marred and they became subject todeath.

    Their descendants share this fallen nature andits consequences. They are born with

    Human beings are Gods special creation---made in his

    own image. Like God we have the power of choice . Godwants us to choose to love him and to care for our worldand its inhabitants.

    We are created by God in his image. Genesis 1:26-27

    God places the breath of life, or spirit, within us, makingus living souls-a unity of body and spirit. We have nosoul that can exist apart from this unity of body andspirit. Genesis 2:7

    God gives the power of choice, but we remain dependentof him. Acts 17:24-28

    The image of God in mankind became marred

    when Adam and Eve sinned in Eden. We are nowborn with tendencies toward evil and are subjectto sin and death.

    All humanity is now involved in a great controversy

    between Christ and Satan regarding the character ofGod, his law, and his sovereignty over the universe.This conflict originated in heaven when a createdbeing, endowed with freedom of choice, in self-

    exaltation became Satan, Gods adversary, and ledinto rebellion a portion of the angels. He introducedthe spirit of rebellion into this world when he ledAdam and Eve into sin.

    This human sin resulted in the distortion of theimage of God in humanity, the disordering ofthe created world, and its eventual devastation

    at the time of the worldwide flood. Observed bythe whole creation, this world became thearena of the universal conflict, out of which theGod of love will ultimately be vindicated. To

    assist his people in this controversy, Christsends the Holy Spirit and the loyal angels toguide, protect, and sustain them in way ofsalvation.

    The root cause of all the evil we see on earth

    today is Lucifers (Satan) rebellion against God,

    which has led to a universe-wide conflict.

    The conflict began in heaven. Revelation 12:4-9

    Satan was created perfect. Ezekiel 28:12-18

    Satans pride led him to want to be equal toGod. Isaiah 14:12-14

    When he was cast out of heaven, Satan came to

    earth and tempted Adam and Eve to join hisrebellion. Their fall changed earth from a paradise to

    a battlefield. All the inhabitants of the universe havewitnessed the results of Satans work here.

    When Adam and Eve followed Satan in rebellion, allof mankind became tainted by sin. Genesis 3

    Sin has distorted the image of God in mankind.Romans 1:19-32

    Sin caused Gods beautiful creation to become sovile that he had to destroy it in a flood.

    In Christs life of perfect obedience to Gods will,his suffering, death, and resurrection, God providedthe only means of atonement for human sin, so that

    those who by faith accept this atonement may haveeternal life, and the whole creation may betterunderstand the infinite and holy love of the Creator.

    This perfect atonement vindicates the righteousness ofGods law and the graciousness of his character; for itboth condemns our sin and provides for our forgiveness.

    By dying, Christ took our place , canceled our guilt,reconciled us to God, and transforms us. Theresurrection of Christ proclaims Gods triumph over theforces of evil, and for those who accept the atonementassures their final victory over sin and death. It declaresthe Lordship of Jesus Christ, before whom every knee inheaven and on earth earth will bow.

    Christs life, death, and resurrection reveal Gods

    righteous character and make eternal life available to

    all who accept it. Only Christ could accomplish redemption. Acts 4:12;

    SALVATIONSALVATION

    In infinite love and mercy God made Christ, who

    knew him no sin, to be sin for us, so that in him wemight be made the righteousness of God. Led bythe Holy Spirit we sense our need, acknowledge oursinfulness, repent of our transgressions, and

    exercise faith in Jesus as Lord and Christ, asSubstitute and Example. This faith which receivessalvation comes through the divine power of theWord and is the gift of Gods grace.

    Through Christ we are justified, adopted as Gods

    sons and daughters, and delivered from thelordship of sin. Through the Spirit we are bornagain and sanctified; the Spirit renews our minds,writes Gods law of love in our hearts, and we aregiven the power to live a holy life. Abiding in him

    we become partakers of the divine nature and havethe assurance of salvation now and in the

    judgment.

    All human beings need to be saved. We are sinful by

    nature and need to admit and repent of our sins, andreceive Christ as our sinless substitute.

    We have all sinned and come short of Gods glory.Romans 3:23

    Our sinfulness alienates us from God and alienationleads to further sin. Romans 8:5-8

    The Holy Spirit points out our need for repentance.John 16:7-8

    We need to recognize and admit our sinfulness. 1 John1:8-10

    Through faith we receive our Saviour who forgives us

    for our past, gives us assurance of eternal life, bringsabout our adoption as sons and daughters of God,

    and gives us power to live holy lives.

    We receive faith through hearing the word of God.Romans 10:17

    By faith we accept Jesus as our Saviour. John 3:16

    11. THE CHURCH11. THE CHURCH

    The church is the community of believers who confessJesus Christ as Lord and Saviour. In continuity with thepeople of God in Old Testament times, we are calledout from the world; and we join together for worship,

    for fellowship, for instruction in the Word, for thecelebration of the Lords Supper, for service to allmankind, and for the worldwide proclamation of thegospel.

    The church derives its authority from Christ , who is

    the incarnate Word, and from the Scriptures, whichare the written Word. The church is Gods family;adopted by him as children, its members live on the

    basis of the new covenant. The church is the body ofChrist, a community of faith of which Christ himself isthe head. The church is the bride for whom Christdied that he might sanctify and cleanse her. At his

    return in triumph, he will present her to himself aglorious church, the faithful of all ages, the purchaseof his blood, not having a spot or a wrinkle, but holyand without blemish.

    When we become Christians, we become a part of

    Christs church. The church is described as Christsbody, and he is the head. Church members need to

    keep in close contact with Christ and with each otherthrough meeting regularly for worship.

    The church is Christs body. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

    Christ is the head. Ephesians 1:22-23 The church is also described as Christ's bride which he

    is preparing for the great marriage in heaven. 2Corinthians 11:2, Revelation 19:7-8

    Christ has given his church authority and a mission onthe earth. Its authority is founded upon himself as theWord of God, and upon his word, the Bible.

    My mission as a church member is to lead others fromthe world into Christs church. Matthew 28:19-20

    In answer to prayers, Christ gives his church the abilityto make decisions in harmony with his will. Matt 16:13-20

    MISSIONMISSION

    The universal church is composed of all who truly

    believe in Christ, but in the last days, a time ofwidespread apostasy, a remnant has been called to keepthe commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. Thisremnant announces the arrival of the judgment hour,

    proclaims salvation through Christ, and heralds theapproach of his second advent. This proclamation issymbolized by the three angels of Revelation 14; itcoincides with the work of judgment in heaven andresults in a work of repentance and reform on earth.

    In these last days God has a special people called the

    remnant. They may be described as those who remainloyal to him in a time of terrible apostasy.

    Revelation predicts that the remnant will exist after thepersecution of the dark ages. Revelation 12:13-17

    God calls out his special remnant in a time of terribleapostasy. Revelation 18:1-4

    The remnant are faithful to Gods commandments.Revelation 12: 17, 14:12

    The remnant have the testimony of Jesus (i.e.) The spiritof Prophecy- the prophetic gift. Revelation 12: 17, 19:10

    The remnant proclaim the urgent message about the

    commencement of the time of judgment, salvation

    through, and the nearness of his second coming.

    They point to salvation through Christ alone. Revelation12:10-11

    They proclaim the message of the judgment hour.Revelation 14:6-12

    This message is a reference to the judgment that takesplace in heaven before Christ returns to earth. Daniel

    7:9-10, 13-14 They proclaim the nearness of Christs return. 2 Peter

    The millennium is the thousand-year reign of Christwith His saints in heaven between the first and
