The Lean Construction Institute UK (LCI-UK) is a charitable membership organisation supporting research into and the dissemination of Lean construction principles and best practice with a view to improving public sector construction
This year the LCI-UK Summit will return to Birmingham Metropolitan College and will again feature a full programme of speakers interactive small group sessions as well as active amp informal networking opportunities

Engaging People in Lean TransformationTransforming the way businesses perform often requires many operational and strategic aspects to be reviewed and improved However one fundamental part of business transformation that is too often neglected is the engagement of people in the change process
Considering such areas a Lean leadership people capability skills and behaviours the climate and culture of an organisation will have a major influence on the timescale and success of any transformation programme

Will Lichtig is an internationally recognized leader in the lean and integrated project delivery movements He has been at the forefront in the development of Integrated Lean Project Deliveryreg process He is a Board member and past Chairman of the Lean Construction Institute
In his role with The Boldt Company Will has worked with teams to develop and implement lean process for target value design lean production planning and control Built in Quality lean problem solving and other key processes that provide innovative approaches to project delivery He also provides leadership coaching to project teams as they develop the wherewithal to deliver projects using lean methods
His innovative efforts were recognized by ENR Magazine which honored him as an ldquoENR Newsmakerrdquo for 2007 He was also recognized by the Lean Construction Institute in 2012 with its ldquoPioneer Awardrdquo and was elected in 2016 to the US National Academy of Construction

Chris Montgomery is Networkrsquos Railrsquos Programme Director for the Northern Programme of works
creating a new regional unit which will deliver the schemes which will better connect the six major cities of the north cutting journey times and electrifying the Trans Pennine Route
Prior to this Chris was the Project Director for the pound750m refurbishment of Birmingham New Street station which transformed the station into the iconic building which opened in September 2015 A Chartered Engineer with a vast experience of the UK contracting industry Chris has a proven track record of delivering complex and demanding projects and of leading teams from the front Prior to joining Network Rail Chris built a successful career at Birse becoming Managing Director of Birse Rail and working on a wide range of civil engineering and railway projects including the upgrade of the West Coast Main Line

Jaimie Johnston is the Head of Global Systems at Bryden WoodHis role includes both physical systems (design for manufacture solutions for healthcare education aviation pharmaceutical and infrastructure projects) and information systems (data analysis digital delivery and BIM) for projects in the UK Europe Russia and Singapore
Jaimie is a member of the UK Government Cabinet Office BIM Core Team and has worked on a number of large projects such as London Heathrow Terminal 5 Terminal 2 and major frameworks for clients including GlaxoSmithKline the Metropolitan Police Authority the Ministry of Justice London 2012 Olympics and the Circle rollout of private hospitals

Andrew has over 20 yearsrsquo experience in industry including most recently as Managing Director of National Expressrsquo international division Andrew formerly ran its Birmingham-based UK Coach business leading it to record profits and customer satisfaction
Prior to that he spent 12 years in commercial roles at Tube Lines managing the public private partnership with Transport for London for infrastructure and maintenance of the Tube He was part of the team which invested pound10m on a training school for engineering Apprenticeships for its workforce

The LCI-UK 2016 Pre-Summit Dinner will take place at the Hotel LaTour Birmingham on Wednesday 26th OctoberThe pre-Summit dinner has always been an important part of the LCI-UK Summit and the 2016 dinner will be no different
