Over the course of my career, I have had the chance to work for and interact with lots of well managed organizations. One common factor I observed in all these companies was that they had a well-defined vision and plan, and they used that as their strategic road map to success.

The other common factor I noticed was that great organizations focus on four key areas in running their business. These key areas are:

Growth Customer Service Productivity Leadership

Growth simply means that you are focused on looking at all the ways you can move your company forward in the future. This includes potential new customers, new products, new markets and opportunities for mergers and acquisitions. It is critical that a company develop a clear strategy on where new opportunities will come from, and what they need to do to make it happen.

Customer Service should be at the center of any great company strategy. As the old adage states, if you don’t take care of your customers, someone else will. Get to know your customers…really know them. Don’t make assumptions on what they want. Talk to them. Then tailor all your efforts in responding to their needs.

Productivity refers to running an efficient, quality driven organization. In an increasingly competitive marketplace, discipline in process gives great companies a distinct advantage. Positive results can include greater cost control, faster response to changes in the marketplace, and consistent predictable outcomes.

Leadership means you are investing in your team, and creating leaders throughout your ranks. Great organizations understand that their people are their greatest resource. They treat them well, they train them and they find ways to provide opportunities for advancement. The return on those investments can be substantial.

The Corporate Training Team at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College is dedicated to helping organizations in all of these areas, and more. Our team of seasoned professionals offers assistance in a variety of ways including:

Customized training for business and industry Technical assistance and consultation for small and large business Seminars and Workshops Professional Development – Licensing and Certification And even Public Safety Training for law enforcement and fire professionals

In fact, last year we worked with over 1000 businesses and provided training and education to over 23,000 employees.

We would love to serve you in the future. For more information on how we can help you or your business please contact our team at 920-498-6911 or email us at [email protected]

We look forward to hearing from you!

Your Leadership JourneyMaking the transition from individual contributor to leader is both exciting and challenging. Unfortunately, we often promote individuals based on their hard work, and they struggle because being a leader is a career change, not just a slight shift in the work they do. This course arms a new or prospective leader with the knowledge and skills they need to confront the challenges they face early in their leader career. The course encourages the learner to think about the transitions that newer leaders face and how to handle those challenges. They are introduced to three leadership differentiators that are most important to building a positive reputation as well as contributing to the organization’s success.

safetyProfessional Presence and PresentationOne of our most common fears is public speaking. What are we so afraid of? We’re unlikely to suffer any real or lasting harm — or are we? How do you handle presenting to a few people or a thousand? The words we use as well as what people see in our eyes, movements, and actions determine how we’re viewed, judged, hired, and promoted. Our professional presence and presentation determines whether we command attention of our audience, whether or not we get what we want. Implementing the tips you learn in this four-hour workshop will have you well on your way to giving better presentations.

Participants in this workshop will gain confidence in extemporaneous delivery and formal presentations, learning how to become part of the message. In this activity-filled seminar you’ll have the opportunity to join in personal and group activities. We’ll be presenting, videotaping, acting out intense situations, and maybe even doing a little improv.

Professional Presence and Presentation will cover: The three components of an attention keeping presentation Best practices for content, design, and delivery Effective techniques for structuring presentations to reach people

who learn in different ways How to speak assertively and confidently Tips for dressing appropriately when appearance matters How to respond to tough situations (know-it-alls, unprepared

participants, the after lunch presentation, and more)

October 25, 2016 9:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. $119

Assertive & Confident CommunicationWhat image do you project? Do you find it difficult to speak up in meetings, make requests of other people, or stand up for your ideas? Or do you tend to push your own ideas too hard, tell people to “just do it,” or discount the opinion of others? This half-day session is designed to help participants portray a more confident image by understanding and balancing their communication style. Enhance your communication skills and build more productive working relationships for yourself and your organization.
