Serengeti Echoes 27 January 2012 Golf Club Newsflash Message from Golf Management We wish all our home owners and members a wonderful 2012 and trust that you enjoyed your holiday and festive season. Clubhouse staff and management look forward to many exciting events and developments as we soon enter into our fourth year of operation. Please scroll to the following page for a schedule of both golf and non golf events planned for the year. We urge our members and home owners to please refer to the latest “Information Booklet” which outlines Clubhouse rules and regulations, such as dress code, use of cart paths and Clubhouse services. A printed copy can be obtained from Francis Keyter (011 552 7200 or [email protected]) Please respect our policies as these have been put in place ultimately for your benefit and safety. We would like to highlight a few of those golf club rules: We ask that residents only use cart paths on the golf course while playing golf? For other purposes, please use the paths adjacent to the main roads. Golfers who do not cancel their tee time at least 24 hours in advance and do not arrive for golf, ie “no shows”, will be liable for payment. Please do not make use of the golf course without paying. The information bulletin from SPOA; “No 19 2011 Use of the Golf Course and Infrastructure by Home owners dd 4 July 2011 V2” , states that “Accessing the golf course and playing golf without paying green fees will be fined accordingly : 1 st Offence : Written warning and double prevailing Green Fees 2 nd Offence: Double prevailing Green Fees and suspension of golf playing privileges (timeframe determined by the golf club) “ The Golf Academy management request that persons using the gym, adhere to the rules of this facility. Please replace equipment which has been used and respect fellow gym members in sharing the machinery. These rules are stipulated in the Information Booklet. As per the Handicap Network Africa body which regulates our handicaps in South Africa, the following rule has been implemented as of 1 st February 2012 5.2 Adjusted Gross and Maximum Score of on any hole. For handicap purposes only an Adjusted Gross may be submitted to the SAGA Handicap System. An Adjusted Gross is obtained by applying the following rules to the score achieved on each hole: Handicaps Limitation on hole scores +5 to 18 The maximum score allowed on any hole is 2 over par 19 and over The maximum score allowed on any hole is 3 over par There is no limitation on the number of 2 over par or 3 over par scores that may be entered.” Please note that as stated there is no limit to the number of 2 or 3 overs that can be taken and these can be taken on any hole. 3 February - 9 Hole Sundowner (please note that this will take place the first Friday of every month) The format is Individual points Stableford. There will be a junior and senior winner for the day. Members will pay R220 Member guest pay R250. Includes build a burger dinner. Tee times are from 14h00 to 16h00. Ph Proshop on 011 5527200 . Ext 212
