Objective of the workshop Wireless communication technologies have evolved significantly in the past few decades. Multimedia applications will dominate the future wireless communication society, resulting in non-trivial problems in terms of available capacity, reliability, quality-of-service, delay, and throughput. One of the important applications in wireless networks is development of technologies for e-learning over diverse networks and using diverse mobile devices. Another important development is the spectrum allocation policies for the wireless networks. Wireless networks have fixed spectrum assignment policy. A large portion of the assigned spectrum is under utilized and techniques for dynamic allocation of this spectrum efficiently is another area of research. This workshop is aimed at discussing some of these research issues and solutions proposed. Topics for the talks Research issues in ad-hoc and wireless

sensor networks Coding for MIMO Techniques for improving the QOS of

wireless networks Security in wireless networks Technologies for e-learning using wireless

networks Cognitive Radio Wireless network simulator Vendor presentations on hardware and

software for deployment of WiFi network in academic institution

Speakers The Lectures would be delivered by experts from IIT Madras, Anna university, NIT Trichy and leading wireless network service providers Mode of delivery of the lectures: The lectures delivered by the experts at NIT-Trichy would also be made available through NKN. Mode of attending the workshop: The workshop can be attended either in person or through videoconferencing . Registration fee: Only those who attend the workshop need to pay the registration fee. Registration fee - Rs. 200/- per participant (Registration fee includes food and course materials )
