ABOUT THE CITY :Chennai the capital of Tamil Nadu has a population of 43.43 lakhs (as per 2001 census). The city

especially in the Chennai Metropolitan Area is estimated to have a total of 16.74 lakhs registered vehicles

as on 2005. The available parking space for the vehicles is only 5100 Passenger Car Equivalent (PCE)as against the demand of 13,000 PCE.

THE PROJECT :

Due to the increasing parking demand, the Corporation of Chennai has proposed to develop Multi LevelCar Parking facilities at several locations. One such facility is planned to be developed at Broadway Bus Standin Zone-III in Chennai City over an area of 3000 sq.mm. on a Design, Build, Operate and Transfer (DBOT) basis.

Corporation of Chennai plans to undertake this project on a Public Private Partnership basis and thereby invites interested parties to submit there bids as mentioned in the Request For Proposal (RFP) more detailsabout the project and submission are available in the RFP.

WHO CAN APPLY

1. Reputed firms as individual bidders are in consortium with other firms of equal repute.

2. Indian Companies forming a consortium with Indian or overseas companies specialised in multi levelcar parking facilities with modern technologies.

3. The developer firm consortium possessing and impeccable track record and provel capabilities indeveloping and maintaining multi level car parks.

4. Consortium limited to only 3 members.

SELECTION PROCESS :

The salient features of the procurement process to be adopted for the selection of the bidder are describedbelow.

1. The last date for submission of the duly filled RFP is on 08-08-2008 by 3.00 p.m. at corporaiton ofchennai, chennai.

2. The company consortium must satisfy the minimum technical and financial eligibility norms along withthe Techno Business Proposal as stipulated in the RFP document.

3. The company consortium offering the maximum financial quote to undertake the project shall be declaredsuccessful.

The procedures and requirements are more particularly described in detail in the RFP document.
