25 April 2015 Chenab House Function: The Annual function of Chenab House was celebrated on 25 April 2015 in an atmosphere of festivity and enthusiastic fevour! Mr. Pradeep Gupta, I.P.S., I.G.P. - Durg Range graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. The grand gala evening

commenced with the House Captain Arnav P.R. Vashishta expressing condolences on behalf of the entire school for the victims of Earth Quake in Nepal and India. The Chief Guest Mr. Pradeep Gupta, Principal Mr. Parshant Vashishta and other dignitaries were then invited to give the auspicious evening a holy start by lighting up the ceremonial lamp. After a floral welcome the Senior House Warden Mr. Sanjay Rudra addressed the august gathering and introduced the theme chosen for the evening – ‘Hawslo Ki Udaan’. The cultural bonanza commenced with a “Qawwali” presented by the students of the Primary Wing. “Give Me Wings”, “Azab Gazab Duniya”, “Chhu lu Aasman”, “Melody”, “Chhoti Si Asha” were some of the remarkable programmes that completely enthralled the audience. The evening reached its culmination with the dance drama titled “Oh Re Bandhe…" staged by the senior students highlighting and sensitizing the spectators to the agony and anguish of the prisoners. The House Captain Arnav rightly put it into words while introducing the drama to the spectators – “These are the people we LOVE to HATE and we never think why they did what they did!!”

The Chief Guest Mr. Pradeep Gupta complemented the effort of the Chenab House Wardens, tutors and the enthusiastic Chenabities and categorically mentioned that DPS Bhilai always lives up to its name and standard in the fields of academics as well as co-curricular activities. In this

context he also congratulated the Principal for his dynamic pursuit to bring about all round development of the students and the school. The Principal Mr. Parshant Vashishta while addressing the audience expressed his happiness for having witnessed such a variety of cultural programmes. He also highlighted the excellent academic achievements of the dipsites in the exams like KVPY, JEE Advanced, AIPMT and mentioned about the initiative taken by DPS Bhilai for cleanliness and beautification of the school. He expressed his heart felt condolence for the victims of the Earth quake in Nepal and India. The evening of music and melody, dance and drama came to an end with a vote of thanks proposed by the Junior House Warden Mrs. Kumkum Sinha.
