September 30-XXVI Sunday in Ordinary Time

In today’s gospel Jesus tells his disciples: “Anyone who gives you a drink

of water because you belong to Christ will not, I assure you, go without his

reward.” On September 27, the Church celebrated the feast of St. Vincent de

Paul. The members of the Society of St. Vincent de Paul are on the front line in

laboring for the poor, they are among the first to know their real needs. This

month, through your gifts, the Society of St. Vincent de Paul was able to

assist 18 families, providing $142 in food, $3,300 for utility, rent and other

bills. God Bless You!

Pastoral Council Update from Sept. 11th

Meeting

Reverend Jairo requests that parishioners nominate four new Pastoral

Council Members. We need one from each mass, especially one from the

6:00 pm vigil mass. We need two men and two women who are bilingual,

active parishioners, and have demonstrated a commitment to the parish

community, and be willing to commit the necessary time and energy to

offer effective consultation. The term is for three years beginning January

1, 2019.

Your nomination should be taken to the parish office in a sealed envelope

by October 14th. Address it to the Pastor Council. Include their name, ad-

dress, and phone number and if they would accept the position if offered to

them.
