The make-up trend that stole the Fall/Winter

2017-2018 shows was the strong play of

metallics which seem to be right in line with

the cool crisp weather of fall and glitz of

the approaching holiday season. Natural,

glowing complexions create a fresh face finish,

while a soft touch of silver shadow dusted in

the corners of the eye diminish darkness. Just

in time for the holidays, metallic shades are

merry and bright on both eyes and nails. Lip

color makes a statement in deep, bold shades

with two-toned lips...why wear one color when

you can wear two? The subtle ombre lip which

gradually grew lighter toward the inner lip

drew attention on all the runways of the world.

Nails in shades of blue, green, berry, red, orange

and holographic shimmer were favored. From

barely-there minimalism to tribal looks, the

return of gothic, reinvented graphic liner, and

super long oversized eyelashes slightly spaced

for a touch of Twiggy style... this season is wild!

The fall/winter runway channeled gold and glimmering hints from the summer past. The color palette includes all gradients of reflective metallics.

A wash of silver was seen neatly swept below the lower lash line and finished with dramatic baby doll lashes played up with heavy mascara. The lid was featured sitting on a gold mine with 24 karat gold washed from the crease line to the brow or simply just played up on the lid with a touch of bronze pressed into the center of lid. The focus is on the eye with brush strokes of coppers, golds, yellows and silvers while the rest of the face is left natural. Nails were seen reflecting this trend in all shades of chromes and yellow hues. If it is shiny, bright and metallic then it belongs on your eye this season. This radiant look is definitely worth its weight in gold!

HEAVY METALS:

Way-out pout...Painted lips in shades of purple, burgundy, deep plum make a statement with the two-toned lip stealing the show. Wearing one shade on the top and another on the lower lip will be in full force this season. Red coupled with either orange or raspberry were the favorites. The ombre effect has returned with lip colors gradually becoming lighter towards the inner lip.

HOW TO C R E A T E A C R E A M E Y E L I N E R Soften matte base in the

microwave and blend in minerals and frost in the base jar or on a blending sheet. Once mixed, return eyeliner to base jar and melt in the microwave in 10 second increments, until liquefied to a milky consistency. Stir well and pour into a ¹₈ oz. jar (FA19). Allow eyeliner to cool for 4 minutes or until hardened. Recipe creates 3 jars.
