In 2007 the JAN DE NUL GROUP (Luxembourg) has signed contracts with Uljanik
Brodogradiliste d.d. in Pula, Croatia for the construction of four self-propelled cutter
suction dredgers. The vessels are further developments of the self-propelled cutter
dredgers 'Leonardo da Vinci' and 'J.F.J. De Nul', world's largest and most powerful
cutter dredgers. Delivery of the dredgers is expected in 2010.

The cutter suction dredgers are fitted with:
� Three spuds; one working spud, installed in the spud carrier, one auxiliary spud
and one spare spud.
� One hydraulically operated spudcarrier.
� Two anchor booms of 40 metres length, suitable for 15-ton Flipper Delta
anchors
� One travelling deck crane with two main hoists each of a 350 kN SWL;
maximum outreach with 700 kN load is 15 m.
� Cutter work platform
� Two barge loading systems into barges (one at PS and one at SB)
� Fitted with a swivel for discharge through a floating pipeline
� Fitted with a barge mooring system consisting of four constant tensioning
mooring winches. The hull is suitable reinforced for a fendering system.

of drawings and calculations consisting of:
� Main part of the basic design, executed in close cooperation with the owners.
� Detailed engineering of the spudcarrier (including FEA) and varying deck and
dredging related equipment.
