ELK OF THE MONTH Leona St. Clair

September's Elk of the month is Leona

St. Clair!

Leona is always willing to play her bagpipes for any event, and we're becoming rather well known for it throughout New York State! She runs our trivia night and had a drive-in movie

night that was a huge success. She also brought a great group down to the Lodge for our soccer shoot. We love having her and

the girls around to help out!

Thanks Leona for making your family part of our family! You make us all proud to be

Johnson City Elks!

In an effort to save on printing costs, beginning this month, there will be two versions of the newsletter. The e-mail version will be as it is

now, colorful and graphics intensive. The print version will be reduced to four pages and will

be a simple listing of all events.

Please note: both versions will contain the same information! Nothing will be left out of the

print version, save the pictures, colors, and formatting.

If you are currently only receiving the print

version, and would like to receive the electronic version, please send an e-mail to

[email protected].

Thank you, Sue, Gayle, & Leona

On October 13, state president Marty Rosenthal visited the lodge. He was greeted by our resident bagpiper and dancers from the Clan Na Cara Irish Dance group. Marty was so impressed that he went by "O'Rosenthal" the rest of the day!

The Annual Holiday Parade in Johnson City will be held on December 5th. The Lodge is teaming up again with HCA. We are in need of 2 trucks and drivers to pull the trailers in the parade. We also need people to help decorate the trailers and walk in the parade. If anyone has any lights, small tree, or inflatables, we might use them too. Please help show your support for the Lodge and HCA by making our participation brighter and larger than last year. Please contact Gayle Klein at

[email protected] for more information.
