This is an issue which we are working to remedy but unfortunately, there is not an immediate quick fix. To clarify, when a visitor rings the doorbell on the main gate, this causes the phones to ring in the school office in the same way that a usual telephone call would occur. The office must answer the call, press the gate button and then hang-up the call for the gate to actually open. During periods of heavy rain or wind, this opening sequence sometimes does not happen on first attempt. In addition, if the office staff are away from their desks or engaged on another phone call, they are unable to answer the gate and you may notice the gate intercom reaches the school voicemail. If this happens, please be patient with us and try ringing the gate doorbell again a few minutes later; or if you wish to call from your mobile to alert us of your presence, please be aware that we will still need you to press the doorbell to initiate the sequence required to open the gate. Please be assured that we always endeavour to respond to the gate and phone calls as quickly as we can. School Gates

Our 'Summer of STEM' series of planned activities has recently undergone something of a rebrand. It will now launch at the start of the next academic year, which gives you plenty of time to practise saying the new name: STEMtember! A number of reasons has led to this postponement, but we already have several exciting projects in the pipeline. Watch this space! Miss Salem & Mrs Darling

On Sunday 24th March I will be taking part in The London Landmarks Half Marathon and I have decided to try and raise some money for an excellent cause – The Children’ Trust which is the UK’s leading charity for children with brain injury.

This year, as many of you know, we have had cause to work alongside The Trust and for me, this has been for the second time in my career. The astonishing work that they do with children and families and then with schools is both inspiring and pragmatic, often leading to success, achievement and recovery. They are a wonderful resource for all involved.

If you are able to support them through sponsoring me, that would be fantastic. There will be no records being broken but I will be back for Running Club at 8am the next morning and details of our next date for Junior Parkrun are coming soon!

You can help me raise money for this great cause by donating directly to my fundraising page

www.justgiving.com/Charlotte-Axbey.

JustGiving sends your donation straight to The Children's Trust and automatically reclaims Gift Aid if you are a UK taxpayer, so your donation is worth even more.

Thank you for your support!

Mrs Axbey’sRun!

The PTA will hold a cake sale on the driveway after school on Friday 29th March. All funds raised from the cake sale will be donated to Cancer Research UK.

Please support us by donating cakes or volunteering your time to sell the cakes after school. Cakes can be dropped off on Friday 29 March am or pm.We need volunteers to help out;

Year 3 went to The Natural History Museum on Thursday 21st March. We completed a great investigative workshop, travelled through planet Earth to The Red Zone and we’re thrown about in the Earthquake simulator. We were really exhausted at the end of the day! Chiara(3E)

Swimming Gala Finals Result

14th fastest year 3 boy in Richmond

Well done to Edward who made it through to the Richmond Swimming Gala Finals. Competing in the year 3 boys freestyle event Edward finished 14th with a time of 35.84.

Results from recent fixtures and tournaments

Grey Court School Cluster Netball masterclass and game.

Eight Vineyard children ( Fiona, Ibrahim, Grace, Malak, Julia, Rosie, Harry and Maya) made the short journey to Grey Court to take part in a masterclass session from pupils in years 9 and 10. The young leaders were absolutely brilliant. We were looked after throughout and had a mini tour of the school. It gave everyone a feel for school life at Grey Court. The PE Coordinator from Grey Court School Ms Drinkwater will be visiting the Vineyard to explain the Sports Scholarship scheme.

Boys Football Tournament Result

Team: Charlie, Oliver, Aiden, Benjamin, Luca, Marcus, Mika, Toby, Sam, and Isaak

The boys travelled to NPL Teddington to play a tournament that had twice been cancelled due to the weather. Mr Jackson kindly came back from his school placement to take the team. The boys went through to the plate competition after the group stages until they were defeated by Hampton Junior School on penalties. Well done to those players who showed courage to take a penalty for the team.
