Dear Exhibitor,

Oakengates & District Canine Society would like to welcome you to our 2017 Christmas Show at the Hadley Learning Centre. This is our eighth year at this facility and we are fortunate to have this super venue. It is therefore essential that the Society and Exhibitors respect the facility as the outcome may affect future shows. We ask that Exhibitors ensure they clean up after their dogs both inside, outside and in the surrounding sports field. Failure to do so may be at cost to the Society.

The Committee are unable to provide refreshments, but there is a cafe on site which will provide light refreshments at a reasonable charge. As there are a limited amount of chairs at the venue, we ask that Exhibitors bring their own if required.Many thanks for your cooperation and support in making the show both enjoyable and successful.

puppy. b. Withdrawal from other Competition:PuppieswhichbecomeeligibleforBestPuppyinGroupandBestPuppyinShowmaybe

13. ExhibitswillnotbeadmittedtoGrouporBestinShowcompetitionafteraperiodoftenminuteshaselapsedsincetheannouncementthatexhibitsarerequiredforjudging,unlesstheyhavebeenunavoidablydelayedbypreviousjudgingnotbeingcompletedontime,andthenonlywiththespecialpermissionoftheShowManagement.

15. Itisnotacceptabletohandleadoginamannerwhichcausesitsfeetnottotouchthegroundwhenonthemove.ExhibitorsshouldnotethatsuchpracticescouldconstituteharshhandlingandreportsofsuchpracticewillbereferredtotheCommitteeunderKennelClubShowRegulationF11.

16. AllexhibitorsmustbefamiliarwithKennelClubRegulationF(AnnexB)RegulationsforthePreparationofDogsforExhibition. 17. AlldogsresidentoutsideoftheUKmustbeissuedwithaKennelClubAuthoritytoCompetenumberbeforeentrytotheshow/

eventcanbemade.AlloverseasentrieswithoutanAuthoritytoCompetenumberwillbereturnedtotheexhibitor/competitor. 18. Dogs in Vehicles on Hot Days.YourdogisvulnerableandatriskduringhotweatherandtheKennelCluboffersthefollowing

guidancetohelpguideyouthroughthedo’sanddon’tstravellingtoandwhilstatKClicensedevents.• Whentravellingtoashowpleasetakeamomenttoconsiderwhethertheroutetotheshowisonabusyholidayroute,and

leaveearliertoavoidincreasedtimeintrafficjams.• Ifyourvehicleisnotair-conditionedseriouslyconsiderwhethertravellingtotheshowisagoodideaatall.• Thevehicleshouldbeasfullyventilatedaspossible,andplentyofstopsshouldbetaken,withlotsofwateravailabletodrink.• Ensureyourdogisnotsittinginfullsunlight.Thereshouldbeplentyoffreeflowingairaroundthedog.• Whenattheshow,neverleaveyourdoginthevehicle.• Keepthedogintheshade-takeyourownshadeforexamplealargeumbrellaandalwayshaveplentyofwateravailableto

drinksoyourdogstayswellhydrated.• Avoidyourdogtakingpartinunnecessaryexertion,orfromstandinginexposedsunlightforextendedlengthsoftime.

Remember,ifyoufeelhotyourdogisverylikelytofeelmuchhotteranddehydrated,andthiscouldleadtodireresults.Pleaselookafteryourdog’swelfare.WARNING: IF YOUR DOG IS FOUND TO BE AT RISK FORCIBLE ENTRY TO YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE NECESSARY WITHOUT LIABILITY FOR ANY DAMAGE CAUSED. 19. Notforcompetitionentrieswillbeaccepted.DetailsofeachdogsoenteredmustberecordedontheentryformandmustbeKennelClubRegistered.Fordogsof4calendarmonthsofageandover.

20. NomodificationswillbemadetothisScheduleexceptbypermissionoftheGeneralCommitteeoftheKennelClub,whichwillbefollowedbyadvertisementintheCaninePresswhereverpossible.

21.TheShowwillbeheldunderKennelClubRulesandShowRegulations.EveryexhibitormakinganentryorentriesatthisshowshallbedeemedtohaveagreedtoabidebytheseRulesandRegulationsanditisonthisunderstandingonlythatentriesarereceived.

22. TheCommitteeofthisshowcannotbeheldresponsibleforproductsadvertisedorsoldbythestallholdersattheshow,andremindexhibitorsthatsuchproductsmaynotmeettherequirementsoftheRegulationsforthePreparationofDogsforExhibition.

23. Exhibitors/handlersareresponsibleforclearingupandremovinganyloosehairorfoulingfromdogsontheircharge,oranyotherlitter,whetherfromtehcarpark,theexerciseareaorfromanyotherpaartofthevenue.

24. Parents/Guardianspleasenote,wellbehavedchildrenarewelcomebutthoseinchargeofchildrenwillbeheldfullyresponsiblefortheiractionsandanydamagecausedwithintheenvironsoftheshow.

25. Theowner,exhibitor,handlerorotherpersoninchargeofadogatKennelClublicensedeventsmustatalltimesensurethatthedogiskeptunderpropercontrolwhilstatthelicensedvenue,includingitsenvirons,carandcaravanparksandapproaches.

26. AdogmaybedisqualifiedbytheGeneralCommitteefromanyaward,whetheranobjectionhasbeenlodgedornot,ifprovedamongstotherthingstohavebeenregisteredorrecordedashavingbeenbredbythescheduledjudge.ThisshallnotapplytoaJudgeappointedinanemergency.

27. SoftCrates:TheKennelClubhasdrawnattentiontothepotentialhealthandsafetyimplicationsconcerningtheuseofsoftcratesatshowsasinitsview,theydonotoffersufficientprotectiontodogs.Softcratesleftunattendedattheringsideareapotentialhazardparticularlywhenoccupiedbylargebreeds,andithasbeenknowfordogstobecomedistressedandmovesoftcratesalongthefloorandalsoescape.Softcratesshouldonlybeusedwhenthereissufficientroomavailableandwhentheycanbesafelysecured.

28. Eachexhibitorisresponsibleforprovidingtheirowncrateorcageidentificationdetailingthatexhibitnumber,thisshouldbedisplayedatalltimes.theoriginalexhibitnumberasprovidedbytheShowSocietymust notbeusedforthispurpose.

29. PHOTOGRAPHY&VIDEORIGHTS.TheOrganiserswouldliketobringtheregulationonphotographyandfilmingtotheattentionofexhibitors,tradestands,pressandvisitors.Itisaconditionofallthoseattendingtheeventthatnofilmingorotherformofrecordingmaybetakenormadeatthevenuewithouttheexpresswrittenpermissionoftheorganisers.ThetakingofphotographsinthevenueforsaleorrewardisstrictlyprohibitedexceptwiththewrittenpermissionoftheOrganisers.PressaccreditedphotographersareprovidedwithpermissiontotakephotographsONLYfortheuseinnewspapers,magazinesandinternetsites-thisisfornewspurposesonly.Thereisnoobjectiontothegeneralpublictakingphotographsorvideofilmofgeneralviewsoftheshow,providedtheseareforprivateuseonly.Specificdogsmaybephotographedonlywiththeapprovaloftheexhibitor.

Nophotographyorfilmingispermittedinbreedjudgingringswhilstjudgingisactuallytakingplace.However,judgesmayallowittohappenattheendofclasses.Filmingandflashphotographyisallowedfromoutsidetheringsatalltimesunlesstheoperationofthecameraisactuallyaffectingtheexhibits.However,ifapowerfulflashunitisusedoritisclearthatexhibitorsarebeingeffected,aringstewardorjudgeisempoweredtostopthepersonconcerned.CinematographortelevisionequipmentmayonlybeusedattheshowifapermithasbeenissuedbytheOrganisers.

(4) AdoginAnyVarietyChampionClass. (5) AsprovidedinKennelClubDefinitionsofClasses. (6) Adogwhichiswithdrawnfromexhibitioninbreedclassesasaresultoftheappointmentofanemergencyjudge. (7) AdoginGoodCitizenSchemeClasses. (8) ExhibitsbredbythescheduledbreedJudge.Ifanexhibitorreportsbeforethejudgingofaclassorclassesthatadoghasbeenenteredwhichisineligible,theexhibitormaychooseoneofthefollowingoptions: (1) Withdrawal ThedogmaybewithdrawnfromcompetitionsubjecttotheconditionsofRegulations9(j)and20. (2) Transfer a) Ifadogisineligibleforaclassorclassesasregardsitsbreed,colour,sex,weightorheighttheShowSecretaryshalltransferitto

theequivalentclassorclassesforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheightand,intheeventoftherebeingnoequivalentclass,MinorPuppyandPuppyexcepted,totheOpenclassforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheight.

b) IfanexhibitisenteredincorrectlyinaMinorPuppyclass,PuppyclassorJuniorclass,whichisoveragebutundertwelvecalendarmonthsofage,eighteencalendarmonthsofageortwentyfourcalendarmonthsofagerespectively,theShowSecretaryshalltransfertheexhibittothePuppyclass,JuniorclassorYearlingclassrespectivelyforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheightandintheeventoftherebeingnoPuppy,JuniororYearlingclasstotheOpenclassforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheight.

c) Foranyreasonotherthantheabove,theShowSecretaryshalltransferittotheOpenclassforthecorrectbreed,colour,sex,weightorheight.

d) Ifanexhibitarriveslateandmissesaclass,evenifitistheonlyclassinwhichthedogisentered,thedogmaynotbetransferredtoanyotherclass.

OPENForalldogsofthebreedsforwhichtheclassisprovidedandeligibleforentryattheShow.VETERAN FordogsofnotlessthansevenyearsofageonthefirstdayoftheShow.CHAMPIONFordogswhichhavebeenconfirmedaChampion,showChampionorFieldTrialChampion.BRACEFortwoexhibits(eithersexormixed)ofonebreedbelongingtothesameexhibitor,eachexhibithavingbeenenteredin

someclassotherthanBraceorTeam.ANY VARIETY NOT SEPARATELY CLASSIFIEDForbreedsofdogforwhichnoseparatebreedclassesarescheduled.

REGULATIONS FOR THE PREPARATIONOF DOGS FOR EXHIBITION F (Annex B)

1. TheseRegulationsmustbeobservedwhenadogispreparedforexhibitionand/orexhibitedatanyKennelClubLicensedevent.ObjectionsmaybereferredtotheBoardfordisciplinaryactionundertheseShowRegulationsand/or fordisciplinaryactionunderKennelClubRuleA11.

a) AdogfoundtohavebeenexhibitedinbreachoftheseRegulationswillautomaticallybedisqualifiedfromexhibitionattheshowandfromanyawardgainedthereat.

b) UnlesstheexhibitorprovidesasatisfactoryexplanationforthedogbeingexhibitedinbreachoftheseRegulationsthenhe/shemaybesubjecttofurtherpenaltiesofeitherafineoraslistedunderRuleA11.

2. a)Nosubstancewhichaltersthenaturalcolour,textureorbodyofthecoatmaybepresentinthedog'scoatforanypurposeatanytimeduringtheShow.NosubstancewhichaltersthenaturalcolourofanyexternalpartofthedogmaybepresentonthedogforanypurposeatanytimeduringtheShow.

b) Anyothersubstance(otherthanwater)whichmaybeusedinthepreparationofadogforexhibitionmustnotbeallowedtoremaininthecoatoronanyotherpartofthedogatthetimeofexhibition.

3. Noactoroperationwhichaltersthenaturalconformationofadogoranypartthereofmaybeperformedexcept:

(a) OperationscertifiedtothesatisfactionoftheBoard. (b) Theremovalofdewclawsofanybreed. (c) Operationstopreventbreedingprovidedthatsuchoperationsarenotifiedto

theKennelClubbeforeneutereddogsareshown.

NormustanythingbedonecalculatedintheopinionoftheBoardtodeceive.

4. TheBoardwithoutpreviousnoticemayorderanexaminationofanydogordogsatanyShow.AnyexaminationthusorderedwillbemadebyapersonhavingexecutiveauthoritywhoshallhaveawrittendirectivefromtheKennelClubintheirpossession.Samplesmaybetakenforfurtherexaminationandanalysis.

5. Anindividualhastherighttolodgeanobjectiontoadogonlyifhe/sheistheownerorhandlerofadogcompetinginthesamebreedorclass.Anobjectionmay,however,belodgedbyanofficialoftheShoworbyanyonesodeputedbytheKennelClub.Itwillbetheresponsibilityoftheindividualwholodgestheobjectionortheofficial(asappropriate)tosubstantiatethegroundsfortheobjection.TheKennelClubwillsubstantiatethegroundsforanobjectionmadeonitsbehalf.

6. AnyobjectionbyanindividualrelatedtoaninfringementoftheseRegulationsmustbemadeinwritingtotheShowSecretaryathis/herofficebeforethecloseoftheShowandtheindividualmustproduceevidenceofidentityatthetimeoflodgingthecomplaint.
