Three Laveen schools participate in national assessment Three of our schools were selected to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Pro- gress (NAEP) this year. Desert Meadows administered this assessment to their fourth graders recently. Both Cheatham and Vista will be participating in NAEP testing in the next few weeks. NAEP is the largest continuing and nationally representative assessment of what our nation’s stu- dents know and can do in core subjects. Results are used to develop ways to improve education throughout the United States.

Three Laveen schools participate in national assessment

Three of our schools were selected to participate in the National Assessment of Educational Pro-

gress (NAEP) this year.

Desert Meadows administered this assessment to their fourth graders recently. Both Cheatham

Commemorative storm shirts discounted

The Laveen Education Foundation has only a few commemorative storm shirts left and are sell-

ing them at a discounted rate.

The navy blue shirts note that the wearer survived two 1,000—year storms and includes the

dates. The back features a large wave and school bus.

The remaining shirts are being sold for $10. Sizes available are medium and large. To purchase

yours, please contact Kristen Landry at [email protected] or 602-237-9100 x 3002 or stop by the

Laveen Education Center.

All proceeds benefit the Foundation which provides scholarships to Laveen school alumni.
