About the Honours Bachelor Program
› Part of the University of Groningen Honours College (HC).
› Seminars, courses, research projects, field trips, forums, etcetera.
› Within the faculty (with students from other FEB bachelors/‘deepening’), and at the HC (with students from other faculties/‘broadening’).

Deepening Pilot within Honours Bachelor Program
› Some honours students in the past wanted more “deepening” rather than broadening.
› Therefore from this year, we offer a pilot program where you can ‘replace’ approximately 10 ECT of broadening elements with a 10 ECT specialization within the FEB.
› This pilot begins in the second year and there are a limited number of slots.
› More details on this will be available later.

About the Honours Bachelor Program
› Deepening – worth 25 ECT*› Broadening - worth 20 ECT* › This is 45 ECT over your bachelor study › Broadening courses from faculties like
Law, Natural Sciences, Medicine etc. › * Depending on whether or not you follow
the standard program or the pilot with extra “deepening”.

Questions you should ask yourself… Am I willing and able to deal with the extra workload of
45 EC extra to 180 EC of your own bachelor? (This is 25%, so about 1 day a week extra on average!)
Am I willing to sacrifice other activities for the Honours Programme?
Am I interested in learning more about research? Am I willing to take both deepening AND broadening
courses ? How do I evaluate alternatives, such as a second study
programme, joining an EBF board, having a job? Why would I select the Honours Programme above them?
