DAY #6 - GIVING OUT AN INVITATION “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

Jesus’ plan to spread the message of hope and redemption that He gave was simple: go and tell.

While that’s remarkably simple, it’s also very challenging and intimidating. God still trusts us to go. He still trusts us to tell. We don’t need to yell. We don’t need to scream… All we need to do is invite them to go on the same journey we’re going on.

PRAY: Ask God to give you the boldness to extend an invitation to the people He’s placed in your life by either inviting them to Jesus or to church. Pray that you wouldn’t say “No” for someone before they have the chance to say it. Pray that God would continue to point out people for you to invite into this life-giving journey of chasing Him.

DAY #7 - GIVING OUT TO GOD’S PLAN “Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” John 14:6

Jesus is the way.

That means that our way isn’t going to go real well for us. It means that anyone who is pulling us away from Jesus isn’t taking us the right way.

If we’re going to follow Jesus, let go after it completely and give out in the process.

PRAY: Pray and commit to following Jesus whole-heartedly. Ask God to make HIS WAY the ultimate priority in your life. Ask God to remove every other way. Pray that you’ll be found faithful on this journey.

WEEK 3 – GIVING OUT

In our third week, we’re going to focus on our OUT relationships with others.

The phrase “giving out” evokes images of being incredibly tired, having spent all of our energy and personal resources on reaching a goal or capturing a prize.

I can’t imagine a better image for loving and serving people. Jesus loves people so much that put a price tag on every one of them: His life.

Let’s honor that and give out to God’s plan for evangelism.

DAY #1 - GIVING OUT KINDNESS “God’s kindness is intended to lead you to repentance.” Romans 2:4

If you deal with people, you’re going to deal with people who sin. Aren’t you glad that Jesus doesn’t bash us over the head with our sin? Then, why do we feel so comfortable doing that with other people? Let’s give out kindness; it’s God’s plan.

PRAY: Ask God to shift your heart from judgment to grace. Ask him to open up your eyes to see how you’ve hurt people by making their sin, not Jesus, an issue in their lives. Pray that God would enable you to be kind like Him.

DAY #2 - GIVING OUT AFFECTION “Most important of all, continue to show deep love for each other, for love covers a multitude of sins.” 1 Peter 4:8

The most significant trait of Christ follower should be their ability to love someone. Love isn’t a notion or an idea, it’s an action. If we want to love others well, there needs to be action to our love.

PRAY: Ask God to give open you eyes to people that are already in your life that need to be loved. Ask Jesus to show you practical ways to demonstrate the love He has for them through you.

DAY #3 – GIVING OUT HOPE “Rejoice in our confident hope. Be patient in trouble, and keep on praying.” Romans 12:12

It’s going to happen to you: someone you love is going to go through a significant struggle. Most of us hear the typical, “It’s all going to be alright” comments. But, what if you could give them real hope? You can: point them to Jesus, be patient with them, and pray with them and for them.

PRAY: Pray that God continually reminds you to point people to Jesus. Ask Him to prepare your heart for times when those you love are hurting and struggling, that you’d be ready to point them to Jesus, be patient, and pray with them.

DAY #4 - GIVING OUT JOY “You must each decide in your heart how much to give. And don’t give reluctantly or in response to pressure. ‘For God loves a person who gives cheerfully.’” 2 Corinthians 9:7

There’s nothing that brings joy to our lives like giving. Giving is not a “have to do”, it’s a “get to do” in our relationship with Jesus. Reflect on this: Giving is how God makes an eternal difference in the lives of other people.

PRAY: Ask God to show you how to give. Ask Jesus to increase your joy as you respond to Him in giving. Pray that God takes your gifts and uses them to change lives.

DAY #5 - GIVING OUT PATIENCE But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.” Romans 8:25

God’s timing is rarely ours. From the time we start praying for someone there very well could be some time before God moves in their lives. Faith and hope in Jesus produces patience, and people deserve us to be patient with them. Hasn’t Jesus been patient with us?

PRAY: Pray that God would increase the grace you have for those you’re praying for. Pray that you’ll be patient, honoring God’s time for them. Pray that you’ll continue to love them.
