General Information 1.1 About the OAS General Assembly The forty sixth regular session of the General Assembly of the OAS will be held from June 13 to 15, 2016, at the Conference Center of the Ministry of Foreign Relations of the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo. The Official Bulletin of the General Assembly is available on the webpage of the OAS: www.oas.org (click on “General Assembly”), or directly at http://www.oas.org/en/46ga/ . The theme proposed by the Mission of the Dominican Republic to the OAS, and to be discussed by the Foreign Affairs Ministers of the Americas will be “Institutional Strengthening for Sustainable Development of the Americas”. 1.2 Headquarters of the General Assembly The 46th General Assembly of the OAS will take place at the “Salón de Conferencias” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ave. Independencia Nº 752, Estancia San Gerónimo, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. 1.3 OAS Member States Antigua and Barbuda Argentina Barbados Belize Bolivia Brazil Canada Chile Colombia Costa Rica Cuba* Dominica Dominican Republic Ecuador El Salvador Grenada Guatemala Guyana Haiti Honduras Jamaica Mexico Nicaragua Panama Paraguay Peru Saint Kitts and Nevis Saint Lucia Saint Vincent and the Grenadines Suriname The Bahamas (Commonwealth of) Trinidad and Tobago United States of America Uruguay Venezuela (Bolivarian Republic of) * On June 3, 2009, the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the Americas adopted resolution GA/RES. 2438 (XXXIXO/09) , which resolves that the Resolution from 1962 through which the Government of Cuba was excluded from participating in the interAmerican system is without effect in the Organization of American States (OAS). The 2009 resolution declares that the participation of the Republic of Cuba in the OAS will be the result of a process of dialogue to begin at the request of the Government of the Republic of Cuba and in conformity with the practices, goals, and principles of the OAS. 2. Information about the Forum “The ICT and the Eradication of Poverty in the Americas: the Role of Public-Private Alliances” and the 2030 ICT Alliance for the Americas 2.1 General Information The Organization of American States (OAS) is currently working towards strengthening and positioning the Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) as key tools to foster development in the Americas. The OAS is committed to support its Member States in the design and implementation of public policies that promote the use of the ICT. This can be achieved through effective broadband and spectrum

plans, and will contribute in fulfilling the goals agreed to in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development of the United Nations. The Organization of American States (OAS), together with the Government of the Dominican Republic, in its role as president of the Inter-American Telecommunication Commission (CITEL), and leaders of the Telecommunications Industry in the Americas are organizing the forum “The ICT and the Eradication of Poverty in the Americas: The Role of the Public-Private Alliances”. At the end of the forum, we will sign an Alliance of joint action called “2030 ICT Alliance for the Americas”. The goal is to promote development in the region by mobilizing resources and products that contribute to increased connectivity and foster digital knowledge, in order to improve the quality of education in the Americas and promote talents for the new digital economy. 2.2 Venue and time The Forum and the Alliance will take place within the General Assembly, the 14th of June 2016 from 4.30 to 5.30 pm at the “Salón de Conferencias” of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs located in Ave. Independencia No. 752, Estancia San Gerónimo, Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

3. Registration/Acreditation and Logistics Information 3.1 Registration (See Annex: “STEPS TO COMPLETE ONLINE REGISTRATION FORM”) In order to participate in the event, it is required to register online at the webpage of the 46th General Assembly of the OAS at the following link: http://www.oas.org/en/46ga/ in the area of “Participants Registration” and under the category “2030 ICT Alliance”. To complete the online registration, please have with you these documents: photograph of applicant (format gif./jpg./png.) and passport. When picking up the ID Badges of the General Assembly, it is required to present a copy of an official identification (passport). For security reasons, the ID badges will be required for all the General Assembly activities. Both late registration/accreditation and delivery of ID Badges will take place from June 11 to 15 in the Da Vinci room at the Sheraton Hotel in Santo Domingo, starting at 8:30 am and continuing uninterruptedly through to 5:30 pm. 3.2 Accreditation Once completed the online registration, the applicant must request for accreditation to the CITEL.
