Dear Fellow Enthusiast,Welcome to our Advance List for what will be our Centenary year. Theseason so far has been a bit of a roller coaster ride and I must say a bigthank you to all of you for your support and bearing with us through whatwas a difficult Spring season. Hopefully, the Dahlias and Chrysanthemumsyou received are now playing their part in providing a touch of colour andputting smiles on faces. With the support of all the team we managed to getall the orders out and complete our stock planting, although a bit later thannormal in doing so. The fields are now bursting into colour with over 12,000Dahlias and Chrysanthemums brightening up a small area ofNorthumberland and setting us up for celebrating our 100th Anniversary nextyear. Plans are afoot as to how we will mark this momentous occasion in ourhistory but in the meantime, I aim to do more video posts via Facebook,Instagram and YouTube over the coming weeks. These will hopefully allowthose of you not able to visit to share the spectacle of our flower fields in lateSummer. With a limited number of shows this year we won’t get the chanceto catch up with some of our regulars but hope that you will be able to sharesome photos of your own displays. As always, we have added some exciting new and exclusive varieties to ourlist with more to follow in our main catalogue when we have completed ourfinal assessments. Our thanks to all the raisers and breeders who entrust uswith these new cultivars and who subsequently allow us to introduce themon their behalf. It seems appropriate to mention that, thanks to thegenerosity of Gordon Hodgson, his 2 chosen charities have benefitted byover £1400 from the sales of Westerton Pearl and Westerton Sunset. As we look forward to our Centenary Year it has been interesting lookingback through some old photographs and seeing how things have changed. At the same time, we need to look forward and adapt to the changing worldin which we live whilst continuing our commitment to offer an up to daterange of quality plants and a first class level of service, both of whichcontinue to receive many positive comments. Enjoy your growing and let usall look forward positively to the 2021 season. In the meantime, take careand stay safe!Yours faithfully,David W. Hall.
