On behalf of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing (ASNT) - Saudi Arabian Section (SAS) and the
Bahrain Society of Engineers, it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 8th Middle East Non Destructive
Testing Conference & Exhibition. The conference and exhibition will be held in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain from
30 January - 2 February 2022.
The Middle East Non Destructive Testing Conference and Exhibition has steadily grown since 2001 to become
one of the largest conferences in the region. The forthcoming 8th edition focuses on quality enhancement
through digital transformation and provides a distinctive platform to share knowledge and experiences. We have
an exciting program lined up with diversified technical program, presenters, keynote speakers and delegates
from around the globe. The conference also includes workshops covering a number of the latest advancements
in NDT training & applications. The exhibition, running concurrently with the conference, will provide you with
an insight into the latest technological developments in products and services related to Advanced NDT
technologies. For the first time, we will introduce the MENDT Excellence Award to recognize and reward best
practices and innovation in the field of NDT. The conference will also highlight various sub events such as WINDT
– Women in NDT, focused on encouraging women professionals to excel in the field of NDT.
We are confident that you will find this event a fruitful platform to all levels of NDT professionals. We look forward

Introduction & Background
The 8th Middle East Nondestructive Testing Conference & Exhibition will be held at the Gulf Convention Centre, Gulf Hotel, Kingdom of Bahrain from 30 January - 2 February 2022.
The theme of this conference is “Quality Enhancement through Digital Transformation”. This theme will focus on digitalization in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (IR4.0). The digital transformation is being adopted throughout the industry to enhance quality and provide significant improvements in productivity and asset value. It also opens new business opportunities and accelerates technology development in the fields of data analytics, remote monitoring and UAVs & robotics. Advancements in digital technologies will also play a major role in education, training, qualification and certification. However, the implementation of these concepts require an upgrade in the infrastructure of instrumentation and communication throughout older facilities. Often these upgrades are costly and require massive investment as early adopters of these concepts have found. A balanced approach that weighs cost-benefit relationship for each scenario is necessary before making costly decisions to implement these concepts.
The Middle East region, in particular, the Gulf Cooperation Council states (GCC), which has been established as the world’s capital of reliable energy and critical source for the sustainability of the world economy is facing major challenges to maintain aging assets and to ensure their reliability. In addition, this region is enjoying a period of rapid growth and massive investment in infrastructure. Sustaining energy production & growth is a challenge and equipment reliability and integrity are critical. IR4.0 will play an essential role to ensure reliable operation and to meet the ever increasing world energy demands.
The American Society for Nondestructive Testing ASNT Saudi Arabian Section & Bahrain Society of Engineers are once again joining hands to launch the 8th Middle East Nondestructive Testing Conference & Exhibition from 30 January - 2 February 2022. at the Gulf Convention Centre, Gulf Hotel, Kingdom of Bahrain. The last conference held in September 2015 which received an overwhelming response. More than 100 technical papers were presented and 4 of the most distinguished International Keynote Speakers delivered presentations on the latest advances in the field of NDT. The conference was attended by over 500 delegates, and was supported by 22 sponsors, 52 exhibitors, and recorded over 1500 footfall in the exhibition.
This conference offers a unique venue for NDT professionals to interact, share and exchange experiences of inspection challenges and to explore the latest NDT technologies. This conference is a world class venue to share best practices, success stories and proven technologies by presenting technical papers and to demonstrate the most recent state-of-art NDT technologies. In addition, distinguished international keynote speakers, experts and professionals in the field of NDT will participate in this high caliber conference through presentations, seminars and workshops. The conference has also proved to be an excellent recruitment vehicle of international talent. Major regional and international companies and organizations have played a significant role in the success of the conference.

The 8th Middle East NDT Conference technical program offers a comprehensive coverage of the latest developments from around the world in NDT Technologies in the new era of Industry 4.0. The conference will include formal presentations, workshops, and panel discussions. The technical program will include the following topics:

Women in NDT
Scientists, engineers, managers and students are invited on the topics outlined above and other subjects related to the theme of the conference. Abstracts should be submitted to the Chairman of the Technical Committee by e-mail. Abstracts should clearly state the subject matter, the objectives, and important conclusions to be presented in the full paper. The abstract should include the title of the paper, a 150- 400 word description of the paper, the author’s name(s) and affiliation including the mailing and email addresses. Guidelines for the submission of manuscript for review and the preparation of the final draft will be communicated upon the acceptance of the abstract (see attached form). Complete papers will be distributed at the conference electronically on CD or Flash drive.
The official conference language will be English. Papers, visual materials and other documents will be presented in English language.

Details & Benefits
A Technical exhibition will be held in conjunction with the technical sessions within the conference venue. The exhibition is intended to provide an opportunity for companies, consulting and research organisations to display and demonstrate their activities and services related to the Nondestructive testing field. Interested organisations are encouraged to participate in the exhibition.
The exhibition stands are 3m wide and 2m deep with 2.4m height. Stand fittings will consist of a system stand, two fluorescent lights, fascia board in English, one electrical power point and sufficient tables and chairs. In addition each exhibitor can avail the following benefits:
1) Exhibitors names will be published in the conference website
2) Exhibitors profile and logo will be included in the Conference Proceedings.
3) Advertising space will be available in the Exhibition Guide.
4) A brief resume (8,10 lines) of each exhibitor will be included in the official exhibition guide which will be circulated to all invited government officials, VIPs, visitors and participating delegates.
5) Wide publicity will be given in the Gulf Region about the exhibition to attract Consultants, Contractors, Government officials and professionals to visit the exhibition booths during the conference period.
6) Each exhibitor is entitled to one full conference package and entry to the Conference Technical Session.
7) All exhibitors will also be honoured with certificates.

Cancellation Policy : A Sponsor/Exhibitor may cancel their participation in the Conference by giving Conference Organizers notice in writing. If Organizers receives notice of cancellation by 31st March 2021 or before the issue of last conference brochure, there will be only 20% of the sponsorship/Exhibition fee as cancellation charges.
If notice of cancellation is received after the issue of last conference brochure or 30th June 2021 the Sponsor / Exhibitor shall be obligated and agrees to pay a cancellation charge of 50% of the total sponsorship / Exhibition fee. If notice of cancellation is received after 31st July 2021, the entire sponsorship / Exhibition fee is due as cancellation charges. In the event of cancellation, Organizers has the full right to use the space for its own convenience, including selling the space to another exhibitor, without rebate or allowance to the cancelled exhibitor. Both ASNT-SAS and Bahrain Society of Engineers assume no responsibility for having included the name or description of the cancelled exhibitor in programs, news releases, publicity or other materials.
Force Majeure : Neither party shall be liable responsible or deemed to be in default hereunder if any failure or delay in performing its obligation. If such failure or delay is occasioned by an act beyond its control or responsibility including and not limited to natural disaster, COVID 19, Government imposed restriction, travel restrictions or any other cause beyond the reasonable control of the Organizers. In such cases the Organizers shall refund 80% of the total Sponsorship & Exhibition fees. 20% administration charges will be retained considering the ongoing promotion activities. Incase of postponement of the event, this sponsorship amount shall be carried forward to forthcoming event and no addition charges will be imposed on the Sponsors & Exhibition fees.

The Saudi Arabian Section (SAS) of the American Society for Nondestructive Testing was chartered in 1999. Since then, the section has grown to over 650 individual and corporate members. The section was founded in order to promote the discipline of NDT as a profession, provide a forum for exchange of NDT technical information through educational materials and programs, and facilitate standards and services for the qualification and certification of NDT personnel. SAS has established seven successful regional conferences on NDT in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia. The SAS section is the most active section with the highest standing among the worldwide NDT community.
The Bahrain Society of Engineers (BSE) was established in July 1972 by the Ministry of
Labour and Social Affairs (MLSA) as a professional institution that helps Bahrain’s Engineers
to contribute substantially to the development and modernization of Bahrain. BSE has vast
experience in the organisation of international conferences, seminars and workshops on
various subjects in the engineering arena.
