R.A.W. United Florida State Chapter Leader Bill Beekley pulling HUGE at the Federation

Championships

Four days of record shattering lifts abounded at the inaugural 2021 R.A.W. UNITED FEDERATION CHAMPIONSHIPS, setting the standard for our newly established Federation Records and qualifying totals for our 2nd Annual Federation Championships! Many thanks to Tom Armstrong, Bill Beekley, Christian Bulnes, Dusty Burgess, Julie Cady, Pete Classon, Tony Conyers, Jacob Dayan, Colin Kearns, Brad Merrill, Jan Montgomery, Mia and Michelle Spragis-McMullen, Natalie Norcross, Rob Terry, Yanni Tshontikidis, Jen and Maddie Weber, and everyone else that helped to make the meet successful! More thanks to Sir Charles Venturella for the awesome awards, Kathleen and Nick Prouty of Sandpiper Sportswear for our R.A.W. United clothing line, and all the folks behind the scenes at Viera Charter School that supported our Panther Powerlifting team! Most important, thanks to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for being ever-present on the platform – no bombs, no injuries – just good times and Christian fellowship! To the lifting …

Mia Spragis-McMullen on her way to locking out a 142 pound record deadlift

Rising fourth grader Mia Spragis-McMullen owned the platform on Thursday, crushing the Record books and qualifying for the 2022 Federation Championships on lifts of 115, 55, 142 in the 8-9, 88-pound class. Mia was joined by teammate Thomas Fargnoli (264 total in the 10-11, 66-pound class) to receive the Best Lifter award for Day One of the four-day event.

Natalie Norcross locking out a 177 pound record deadlift

Panther Powerlifting Team Captain Natalie Norcross was flawless on the platform, going 137, 72, 177 in the 12-13, 88-pound class. Natalie brought the crowd to their feet on the day’s final deadlift as she never gave up, finally locking it out after a well fought struggle to the top! Seven-year-old Finleigh Caldwell, competing in her first meet, left plenty of weight on the bar en-route to her 167-pound total. Finleigh is sure to qualify for the 2022 Federation Championships at either the Tony Conyers Extravaganza in November or our Patriot’s Power Day in December. Colton Brown led the men’s charge, going 107, 70, 172 in the 10-11, 88-pound class. Colton joined Natalie to receive the Day Two Best Lifter awards. R.A.W. United Chaplain and Master’s legend Tony Conyers

Jacob was joined by Master’s legend Tony Conyers who never ceases to amaze us; Tony totaled 1500 in the 165s (60-64) on lifts of 550, 350, and 600. Elite Lifting’s Cody Davis and Dalton Schelhammer hit big totals in their respective classes, as did Evelyn Puisseau, Thomas Dozier, and Raymond Hodges from Strong Life Tampa Bay. Ashley Polacek of Panther Powerlifting led the Youth division, capturing Best Lifter honors and record-breaking numbers that included a 102 pound squat, 65 pound bench, and 142 pound deadlift in the 66-pound class.
