About the Last One: Bowie finished a seven-game sweep of Harrisburg on Sunday at FNB Field in Harrisburg, winning 4-1. Kyle Brnovich earned his second win of the series, and Zach Watson and Shayne Fontana added solo home runs for the Baysox in the final regular season game away from Prince George's Stadium. Away, You Say: The Baysox will bat first and play as the visiting team in game two of Tuesday's doubleheader. Back on May 9th, the series finale in Altoona was postponed due to rain, and this series is the only other meeting between these teams this year. Bowie is 39-20 on the road this year, as opposed to 29-25 at home. Hired Gun: Infielder Gunnar Henderson, the No. 4 prospect in the Orioles organization according to MLB Pipeline has been promoted to Double-A Bowie. Henderson began 2021 with Low-A Delmarva, where he hit .312 with eight home runs in 35 games with the Shorebirds. From there, he was promoted to High-A Aberdeen, where he hit .230 with nine home runs in 65 games with the IronBirds. Playoff Push: The top two teams in the Double-A Northeast League by winning percentage, regardless of division, will compete in a best-of-five playoff series beginning Tuesday, September 21st. With five games remaining in the season after today, Bowie is 0.5 games behind the Somerset Patriots for the second playoff spot, and 2.5 games behind Akron, who holds the top spot in the league. Akron and Somerset are in a six- game series against each other this week. Akron already defeated Somerset 8-6 earlier this afternoon. Game One Gray's Day: Starting the first game of the doubleheader will be right-hander Gray Fenter . This will be his 13th start and 21st appearance for the Baysox this year, as he has spent his entire 2021 season with Bowie. Gray threw one inning against the Curve on the first day of the season, allowing one run on two hits. Fenter is coming off his best start of the season, a game in which he threw six scoreless innings while allowing four hits with one walk and three strikeouts. In the Other Corner: Altoona will also start someone who has spent his entire season with the same club. Right-hander Roansy Contreras will make his second start against the Baysox, with his first being back on Opening Day. Contreras threw five scoreless innings in that game, allowing five hits and no walks to go along with 11 strikeouts. Game Two David Deals: Making the start in game two of the doubleheader will be another righty, David Lebron. This will be only his third start but his 22nd appearance with Bowie, and his 26th outing of 2021 including his four appearances with Triple-A Norfolk. Lebron threw four scoreless innings in a doubleheader last week against Harrisburg, starting game two of that twin bill as well. For more information on Lebron, see page three. In the Other Corner: The Curve will start right-hander Osvaldo Bido in game two. Bido has spent his whole 2021 season with Altoona. He started on May 8th against Bowie, throwing 2.2 innings and allowing three runs on four hits with three walks and three stikeouts. Patrick Dorrian homered off Bido in that game. This Day in Baysox History: This is the first time on team history that Bowie will play a game on September 14th.
