February 21, 2020

Greetings!

On behalf of the South Carolina Osteopathic Medical Society (SCOMS), I am pleased to welcome you to the 2020 SCOMS Winter CME Conference, which is co-sponsored by the Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine - Carolinas. I am grateful for your attendance and support of YOUR state medical society.

Dr. Ryan Hakimi is the Program Chair for this year’s conference and he has assembled a rich array of topics and presenters to provide you with a meaningful educational experience. I wish to express great appreciation to Dr. Hakimi and all the speakers who are participating in the 2020 Winter CME Conference.

The SCOMS Conference is generously supported by sponsors and exhibitors who are eager to meet you and share news about their organizations. Please visit each vendor table where your Exhibitor Card will be signed and you can enter into a drawing for FREE REGISTRATION to the 2021 Winter CME Conference, which will be held February 19-20 in Charleston, S.C.

Your feedback is vitally important to SCOMS for planning for future conferences. Please complete the enclosed evaluation form with your comments and suggestions.

Many exciting things have taken place with SCOMS over the past year. We lauched a new website that offers private networking to members, allowing you to make your own friend and peer connections, share photos, post in discussion forums, and send member-to-member messages. You can easily renew memberships and register for events on the website. A DO Directory provides quick access to the public for locating doctors who are members of SCOMS by zip code and specialty and we are seeing an uptick in referrals from this process.

SCOMS will soon launch an Affinity Program that will provide exclusive access to a number of benefits and discounts to our members. And, in an effort to grow membership and provide networking opportunities for DOs across the state, SCOMS will soon host Meet & Greets in the Upstate, Charleston and Myrtle Beach areas. More details will be coming very soon!

If you are not currently a member of SCOMS, I hope you will use the enclosed membership application to JOIN TODAY! SCOMS takes very serioulsy its role as the voice for osteopathic medicine in the state of South Carolina. Our goals are to expand membership and offer quality CME programs and networking opportunities as we advocate on behalf of the osteopathic physicians and build public awareness for the profession of osteopathic medicine.

Once again, welcome to the 2020 SCOMS Winter CME Conference! We look forward to meeting and talking with each of you this weekend.

Warm regards,

Tammy E. WhaleyExecutive Director
