Call to Conclave To: All Past Grand Commanders, current Grand Officers, Committee Members, Officers and Sir Knights of all

Constituent Commanderies within the Jurisdiction of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa By virtue of the power and authority in me vested as Grand Commander of Iowa, I hereby declare that One Hundred Fifty-Fifth (156th) Annual Conclave of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa, shall be held June 5th and 6, 2020, at the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center at ISU, 2100 Green Hills Dr., Ames, IA 50010. It is the duty of the Commander of each Constituent Commandery to see that his Commandery is represented in person or by proxy, and to assist in the transactions of business to be conducted. The Commander, Generalissimo, and Captain General of each Constituent Commandery, are REQUIRED to attend, but may be represented and vote by proxy, provided that each member present, or by proxy, shall have only one (1) vote. All proxies must be signed by the officer being represented and bear the Seal of the Commandery or they will be deemed invalid. You must complete a registration form for Grand Conclave as this is how introductions are going to be made. Be sure to register early and save some money. If your registration and payment are received by May 15th, you will avoid a late fee of $25. The final dated reservations will be accepted with late fee is May 29, 2020. Meal reservations WILL NOT be accepted at the event, they MUST be made in advance. All meal NO SHOWS will be billed for their meals. All introduction requests must be sent in on the reservation form even if you are not ordering meals. This way we can have everything ready, in advance, for your attendance and your check-in at the registration and VIP desk will go smoothly. Please attend, reconnect with old acquaintances and make new friends from around the state, region and nation. My Grand Officers and myself, look forward to your attendance. Iowa Knights Templar, in good standing, will receive Mileage and per diem paid under the provisions of Section 341 (a) and (b) of the Statutes of the Grand Commandery Knights Templar of Iowa. HOTEL RESERVATIONS Hotel Reservations are to be made directly with the Gateway Hotel and Conference Center at ISU. Their number is (515) 292-8600. You must ask for the “Grand York Rite Bodies of Iowa” room block to obtain the special group rate of $124.00 per room plus taxes for either 1 King or 2 Queen bed(s). Hotel reservation deadline is May 12, 2020. Rooms available after that date, if available, will be at a higher rate. The hotel has the IowaStater Restaurant which is open for breakfast.

MEAL RESERVATIONS Meal reservations are to be made with the enclosed registration form and mailed to the Grand Recorder’s office. The deadline for meal reservations with remittance is May 15, 2020 without penalty. Otherwise, all meal reservations received after May 15, 2020 until May 29, 2020 will have a $25 late fee added. No refunds or cancellations after May 29, 2020. Tickets will not be sold at the door. All meal NO SHOWS will be billed for their meals.

If you have special dietary needs, please contact the Grand Recorder’s office and we will try our best to accommodate. All meal reservations are due by May 15, 2020. All reservations received between May 16th and May 29, 2020 will have a late fee of $25.00 added to the total.
