2. GENERAL INFORMATION

2.1. TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION

Travel and accommodation expenses must be covered by the National Federations.

All participants must hold a valid passport or identity card. Visa obligations must be respected. All riders and attendants must hold an insurance valid in Spain (European Union).

Nearest major airport in Spain: Barcelona - El Prat is located 300km from the MTB

Ultramarathon European Championships venue. It’s 4h drive on highway A2 and national road

N230 direction Vielha.

Nearest airports in France: Tarbes-Lourdes Pyreenes Airport is located 130km from Vielha, and it’s 2h drive on highway A64 and then national road N125 direction Spain.

Toulouse-Blagnac Airport is 170km away from Vielha. It’s 2h 20’ drive on highway A64 and

then national road N125 direction Spain.

Nearest Railway in Spain: nearest high-speed railway station is Lleida-Pirineus, 180km drive

on national road N230 direction Vielha.

Nearest Railway in France: nearest high-speed railway station is Montréjeau, 65km drive on

national road N125 to Vielha, and where there is also a connection with bus to Luchon.

5. RACE SPECIFIC REGULATIONS

ARTICLE 1. GENERAL RULES The 2020 UEC MTB Ultra Marathon European Championships will be organized on Saturday, the

27th of June 2020.

ARTICLE 2. TYPE OF THE EVENT

2.1 The event is open to athletes in following categories:

✓ Elite Men

✓ Elite Women

✓ Masters Men

35-39 / 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65-69 / 70+

✓ Masters Women

35-39 40-44 / 45-49 / 50-54 / 55-59 / 60-64 / 65+

The 2020 UEC MTB Ultra Marathon European Championships are entered in the UCI calendar as a

Continental Championships event (CC) will be run under the auspices and according the regulations, decisions, conditions and instructions of the UEC and UCI

ARTICLE 3. PARTICIPATION

3.1 Participation for National Teams

The participation for National Teams is open for European riders only.

National Federations may enter the following riders free of charge:

Women Elite – Men Elite

Max. 2 riders per nation / per category

The National Federations have to register their riders directly on the UEC website (www.uec.ch).

The registration will open on 1 April 2020

Deadline for the registrations (riders, staff and NF Official Delegates) Sunday 14th June 2020 (23.59

CET)

Riders must compete in their national jersey

3.2 Participation for other riders (Elite & Masters)

The participation for Other riders is open for European riders only.

The registration will open on 9th of March 2020 – 09:00 am.

Riders’ Basic registration includes

✓ Track for GPS in .gpx format ✓ Aid stations throughout the race with liquids and solids

✓ Basic repair material in the aid stations and access to mechanical assistance in at least 1 of

them ✓ Welcome gifts and an exclusive present for the finishers

Riders’ registration with accommodation includes:

✓ Dinner, hotel and breakfast Friday night and Saturday night in a hotel in Vielha ✓ End of festival lunch on Sunday

✓ Track for GPS in .gpx format

✓ Aid stations throughout the race with liquids and solids ✓ Basic repair material in the aid stations and access to mechanical assistance in at least 1 of

them ✓ Welcome gifts, 15th anniversary exclusive present, jersey for the finishers

3.3 NATIONAL TEAMS Control/registration participants

Elite The control of the licenses, clothing, registration of the participants and distribution of other

documents shall be on Friday 26h June in Sala Polivalenta (Vielha) from 16h to 21h

3.4 OTHER RIDERS Control/registration participants

Elite and Masters

The control of the licenses, registration of the participants and distribution of other documents shall be on Friday 28th June in Sala Polivalenta (Vielha) from 16h to 21h

3.5 Body numbers

The riders are obliged to use the body-numbers which will be supplied by the organization.

3.6 Start order

The start order will be made up applying UCI/UEC regulations.

ARTICLE 4. AWARDS CEREMONIES

Award ceremonies will take place at 11am Sunday 28th June in Querimònia Street

We kindly ask the first 3 riders to be in time for the victory ceremony.

Riders must present themselves in race clothing, wearing their race apparel and shall not wear a helmet, a cap a headband or glasses until they leave the podium ceremony area.



4.1 Jersey and medals

Every European Championship will be awarded with:

The 1st place: Gold medal and Champion’s jersey

The 2nd place: Silver medal

The 3rd place: Bronze medal

4.2 Prize money list (Amounts in Euro):

*The prize money will be transferred by the UEC directly to the concerned National Federations.

ARTICLE 5. ANTIDOPING The anti-doping controls will be under the responsibility of the Cycling Anti-Doping Foundation (CADF).

An official Communiqué will be distributed by the appointed DCO. Doping control station: Espitau Comarcal dera Val d'Aran (Vielha's Hospital)

ARTICLE 6. PENALTIES

The UCI scale of penalties will solely apply.

ARTICLE 7. UNFORESSEN

In those events in which the regulations not supply, the commissaires panel, in conjunction with the

organization, will decide.
