Family Fun Center!

Have you tried bowling? If not, join us for some bowling fun! Not only is it a fun sport, but it is also great exercise. (After taking an extended break, I found out how much exercise you actually do get from bowling.) If you don’t own a ball, don’t worry! Use one of the Fun Center’s bowling balls at no additional charge. There are many different sizes available. So there ’s no excuse. If you haven’t been bowling, now’s the time! Winter Hours:

MARK YOUR CALENDAR Easter is April 12th and is always one of our most popular holidays. Once again,

we have a full weekend of activities planned for you and your family. Enjoy the Friday Night buffet at the Rendezvous Restaurant. On Saturday morning, there will be activities and crafts for all ages. Then it’s on to the designated areas for egg hunts which are organized by age groups. After the hunt, be sure to join the golf cart parade. The winner with the most decorated golf cart receives a certifi-cate to the Rendezvous Restaurant & Lounge. The fun doesn’t stop there, head to Bowling Center that evening and try your luck at bowling under the black lights.

So don’t miss out! The Easter Bunny always stops by the resort and leaves plenty of eggs, some of which are ‘golden’.

VALENTINE’S DAY

Have you ever had your Valentine’s Day cards stamped and mailed from Valentines, Virginia? Across United States, people forward their cards to the Valentines Post Office to be stamped and mailed to their loved ones.

DID YOU KNOW?

Pope Gelasius declared February 14 as St. Valentine’s Day at the end of the 5th century. During the Middle Ages, it was commonly believed in France and England that February 14th was the be-ginning of birds’ mating season, which added to the idea that Valentine’s Day should be a day for romance.

Valentine greetings were popular as far back as the Middle Ages, though written Valentines didn’t begin to appear until after 1400. The oldest known Valentine still in existence today was a poem written in 1415 by Charles, Duke of Orleans, to his wife.
