From 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Saturday, October 31st, the FBCJ parking lot will be filled with trucks decorated for Halloween and visitors will be able to trick-or-treat, visiting each vehicle and receiving a special treat for Halloween. So get your costumes ready, mark your calendars, and plan to join us at this creative and fun event! All are invited! We have two plans in place, contingent on conditions current at the time. If pandemic conditions are similar to our current conditions or better, kids will make their way by foot along a designated path from one vehicle to the next with social distancing practiced. If pandemic condi- tions worsen, the procession will require visitors remain in their cars as they drive along the designated route and treats will be handed through the window. Trucks sponsored by various companies will be deco- rated (“in costume”) and should be in place by 4:30 pm. If someone would like to participate by having their own decorated truck in the event, please contact Anna at 770-894-2783 or [email protected]. Trucks will be decorated by their sponsors/owners. ough the partici- pants are being asked to provide their own treats to hand out, we would still like to request donations of individually wrapped candies to help ensure there are plenty of goodies for all of our visitors. We will not be having any games or activities during this event other than the trick-or-treating procession of the children by foot/vehicle. Happy October Birthday!

School is back in session and now more than ever some of our kids need our

School Snack Pack Ministry. Monetary contributions are always greatly appre-ciated, but if you would like to donate, we are in particular need of individually

packed snacks, ziplock bags, and plastic bags. These may be left on the shelf by the elevator downstairs. If you have any

questions, please contact Marcia McDaniel at 706-692-8364.

The Spirit of Christmas Throughout the YearEvery year our FBCJ Lamplighters Women on Missions group organizes and coordinates Operation Christmas Child. Operation Christmas Child is a project of Samaritan’s Purse that began in 1993 and has since delivered more than 168 million shoe boxes filled with donated items to needy children in more than 100 countries. “Shoe box gifts are a way to demonstrate God's love in a tangible way to needy children around the world, and together with the local church worldwide, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.”In October the Lamplighters Women on Missions group will be holding their annual shoe box packing party. The Lamplighters have reserved the outside covered porch at the Pickens County Recreation Center, located at the cor-ner of Camp Road and Refuge Road, for Thursday, October 8 from 10:00 to 12:00 for the Operation Christmas Child Packing Party. All ladies of the church are invited to join them for this very special event. Please wear your mask and bring your items for the shoe boxes. The Lamplighters group will provide the shoe boxes, clear plastic gloves, scotch tape, scissors, and something to write with. We plan to return back to our own homes for lunch after pack-ing the shoe boxes.Operation Christmas Child boxes will be collected on Sunday, November 15th. Please bring your boxes and $9 postage. If you prefer, you may bring your boxes to the church office by Thursday, November 12th. If you have any questions, please contact Kym McCrary: [email protected]
