CanNeed Instrument was formed in 2006, manufacturing quality and process control equipment for the fi lling and can making industry.
Founded by Albert Bai, and initially employing three people, the company has grown over the years and currently employs in excess of 120 people. Operating from its new 27,000 sq. ft, purpose-built premises in Zhouqing, the com-pany’s activities have expanded into the auto-motive, medical and electronics markets. The company continues to grow at 20% per year.
The products are built using the highest quali-ty components and offer the industry value for money; the company focus is simply to be the best at what they do. In order to carry out this vision, they are investing in the manufacture of its own fundamental measurement devices that are used in the products they supply.
The product range available to the can maker covers all of the measurements of two-piece, three-piece and end making manufacturers.
From manual to fully automatic gauges, the company offers a solution for all the can and end maker’s needs.
For the fi ller there is a range of seam analysis products including the X-Seam online products that takes cans from the fi lling line and con-ducts QC seam checks then returns them to the line, fully automatically. In addition, they have a range of leak testers, dissolved oxygen meters, fi ll height checkers and seam analysis tools again available in manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic variants.
The recently opened facility brings together the design, manufacturing sales and adminis-tration operation into a single facility and allows for further growth in the coming years. The expansion into the Europe-an market has begun; all prod-ucts offered in Europe are fully compliant with the requirements of CE legislation and are able to support the products in Europe.

CMB Engineering is a global manufacturer of can making machinery. The company offers technical solutions for two-piece can making and has a deep rooted understanding of the industry, with highly skilled experienced spe-cialist engineers helping to meet and further enhance the needs of their customers.
The company now operates from its headquar-ters in Shipley, UK; Norwalk, Connecticut, US and Shanghai, China, making sure its custom-ers are catered for globally. FacilitiesThe company’s head office and manufacturing facility is based in Shipley, UK. The site covers 11,000m2 of factory space with an additional 4,000m2 of office space, located in a purpose built location for CMB Engineering in 1950.
Also located on site is ‘The Academy’, a pur- pose built training facility which is utilised to train CMB apprentices and customers alike.
