ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
CQUniversity has a range of entry requirements for our courses. Requirements vary depending on the course and some courses may include prerequisite study in certain subjects.

ACADEMICCERTIFICATE DIPLOMA BACHELOR
Completion of Australian Year 10 or equivalent.
Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent; or completion of AQF Certificate IV or equivalent.
Completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent; or completion of AQF Certificate IV or equivalent; or completion of an approved university foundation studies program.
POSTGRADUATE COURSEWORK
Graduate certificate, graduate diploma and masters by coursework
Completion of a bachelor degree with the equivalent to an Australian pass grade average in the final two terms, from a recognised higher education institution.
POSTGRADUATE RESEARCH
Masters by research Completion of an honours degree or a bachelor degree at a high level of academic performance in a relevant discipline.
Doctoral degree Completion of a bachelor degree in a relevant discipline with first or second class honours; or a masters degree with substantial element of research work

STUDY MODESON‑CAMPUSIf you are in Australia on a student visa you must study full time on campus. While in Australia, you are able to undertake some units within your course online provided it is: no more than 33 per cent of your entire course; approved by the University; and not entirely online in a compulsory term.
ONLINEIf you choose to study online, you may choose part time or full time to study at your own pace. This is a perfect option if you need to balance work or family commitments. Some courses require you to attend a residential school in Australia for a short period of time.

STUDY ENGLISH WITH YOUR ACADEMIC COURSEWe offer multiple pathways for students to meet the English language requirements. CQUEnglish is located in Brisbane, Melbourne, Rockhampton and Sydney. By packaging your English course with your academic course, you won’t have to take an IELTS test.

STUDY FULL OR PART TIMEFULL‑TIMEFor an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework degree, a standard full‑time load consists of four units per term. You can expect a maximum of 16 hours on campus each week, consisting of four hours per unit.
PART‑TIMEPart‑time study is only available to international students who hold a temporary visa or do not live in Australia and are studying online. A part time study load consists of one or two units per term.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)If you have previously studied at another university or institution within the last ten years, or have professional experience, you may be eligible for recognition of prior learning (also known as advanced standing, credit exemption and credit transfer). This must be applied for at the time of applying for your course.

STUDENT VISA AND UNDER 18If you intend to study in Australia, you will require a student visa for the duration of your studies. Once you have received your visa, there are requirements you must meet for it to remain valid.
If you are under 18 years old when you start your studies, you are required to have an approved guardian until you turn 18 and reside in a CQUniversity approved accommodation.

OVERSEAS STUDENT HEALTH COVER (OSHC)All student visa holders require OSHC for the duration of their visa length. CQUniversity has a preferred arrangement in place with Allianz Global Assistance. For more information visit https://allianzassistancehealth.com.au/en/.
WORKING WHILE STUDYINGAs a student visa holder, you may work up to 40 hours per fortnight while your course is in session and unlimited hours during term breaks. All people working in Australia have basic workplace rights and protections, including minimum pay and conditions. You will need to obtain a Tax File Number (TFN). LIVING COSTCost of living varies depending on the location, accommodation type and lifestyle you choose. The table below reflects basic living costs and do not include tuition fees, air tickets, student visa application fees, medical examinations for student visa application, OSHC and study related costs such as textbooks.
When you first arrive, you will need to consider establishment costs such as bond payment, advance rent, furniture and other household items. If you have a car, you will need to consider vehicle registration and maintenance costs.

» Fees are indicative only and do not cover additional costs such as textbooks, accommodation, visa applications, OSHC, general living etc.
» The final fee payable will be determined by your selection of units and if any credit was awarded for recognition of prior learning.
» The University reserves the right to amend fees at any time during the course. Fees are reviewed annually and may increase in the following year to enable CQUniversity to continue to provide quality services and facilities to students.
» Courses are subject to change at the discretion of the University.
» It is your responsibility to make yourself aware of the entry requirements and prerequisites of the courses you wish to undertake.
» The typical annual fee shown provides an estimate of the tuition fees for the first year of the course in 2020. This estimate assumes a full‑time study load of 4 units per term (based on two terms) with indexation of the 2020 international subject fees at six per cent per annum for every additional year of study after 2020 (for students commencing in 2020).
» International students can only undertake courses online from an overseas location. Courses undertaken online only can be found on our website, and may be studied on a full‑time or part‑time mode.
» International students studying on‑campus in Australia may only take 33 per cent of their entire course by online education, and this option cannot be taken in its entirety during a compulsory term (Term 1 and Term 2). Students must study at least one unit face‑to‑face each term.
