Welcome to the Second Annual Glaucoma Patient SummitThis year's event looks a little different as Glaucoma Research Foundation takes precautionsto ensure the health and safety of our attendees during the COVID-19 pandemic. To help youget the most out of your virtual experience, we have created this simple guide.

What to Expect on November 7, 2020On the morning of the Virtual Glaucoma Patient Summit, you will receive an email withinstructions for how to join from your PC or mobile device. Some helpful tips are alsobelow.

How to Join the Summit Simply click the URL you receive in your reminder email. If you are on a computer, mobile device, or tablet follow the prompts to download and install Zoom application or select the option to use Zoom on your web browser. Adjust Audio Settings: Only the host and panelists can talk in a webinar. However, as a participant you can adjust your speaker settings by clicking the Audio Settings button on the screen in the lower left to check your speaker settings .

Ask Questions with Q&A At any time during the event, click the Q&A button at the bottom of your screen to open the window. Type your question in the text field. If you want your question to be anonymous, check the Send Anonymously checkbox. Click Send.

You will be able to access the event via Zoom 30 minutes in advance of the start time. TheSummit will begin at 8:00 a.m. PT with Welcome and Opening Remarks.

Speaker BiosThomas M. BrunnerPresident and CEO, Glaucoma Research Foundation Tom Brunner joined Glaucoma Research Foundation in 2003 after a 30-year career in ophthalmic laserbusiness. He helped introduce major advances in eye care including laser photocoagulation to preventvision loss from diabetic retinopathy, laser treatment of secondary cataracts, and laser treatment forglaucoma.

Andrea EpsteinChair, Glaucoma Patient Summit Steering Committee Andrea Epstein first got involved with the Glaucoma Research Foundation when seeking innovativeglaucoma treatments on behalf of her husband who has lived with glaucoma most of his life. Prior to hercurrent work in education consulting, Andrea served in health care executive roles at numerous for-profitand nonprofit organizations including Global Genes and The American Cancer Society. She wasinstrumental in the development of the inaugural Glaucoma Research Foundation Patient Summit in2019 and is serving in her second year as the volunteer Chair of the Patient Summit Steering Committee.She is also a member of GRF's Development Committee.

Jeffrey L. Goldberg, MD, PhDProfessor and Chair of Ophthalmology, Byers Eye Institute, Stanford University Dr. Goldberg’s clinical effort is focused on patients in need of medical or surgical intervention forglaucoma and other retinal and optic nerve diseases, as well as cataract. His research is directed atneuroprotection and regeneration of retinal ganglion cells and the optic nerve, a major unmet need inglaucoma and other optic neuropathies, and his laboratory is developing novel stem cell andnanotherapeutics approaches for eye repair.

Dr. Halkias is native of Naperville, IL. He earned his Doctor of Optometry from the State University of NewYork College of Optometry, and a bachelor’s degree in Cell and Structural Biology from the University ofIllinois at Urbana/Champaign. Dr. Halkias received his optometric training at Southern Arizona VA HealthCare System in Tucson, AZ, where he provided primary eye care to veterans.

Dr. Iwach is Executive Director of Glaucoma Center of San Francisco, Associate Clinical Professor ofOphthalmology at University of California at San Francisco, and a faculty instructor at the California PacificMedical Center Department of Ophthalmology. He has served on the Glaucoma Research FoundationBoard since 200 and is a member of GRF’s Executive Committee, among others. He has served as BoardChair since 2011, and he co-founded GRF’s signature annual event Glaucoma 360, in 2012.

Shan Lin, MDGlaucoma Specialist, Glaucoma Center of San FranciscoDr. Shan Lin received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Berkeley andcompleted his medical school training at Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed hisophthalmology residency and glaucoma fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco(UCSF). He has previously been Professor Clinical Ophthalmology at UCSF, including director of the UCSFGlaucoma Service, and at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Dr. Lin serves on theGlaucoma Patient Summit Steering Committee.

Constance Okeke, MD MSCEGlaucoma Specialist, Virgina Eye Consultants Dr. Constance Okeke is a board-certified ophthalmologist specializing in glaucoma and cataract surgery.She has two decades of glaucoma experience ranging from cutting edge research and micro-invasivesurgical techniques to training the other doctors, speaking, and writing about her techniques andinnovative ideas. She received her undergraduate and medical degrees from Yale and trained inophthalmology at the Wilmer Eye Institute of John Hopkins. She completed her glaucoma fellowshiptraining as a Heed Research Fellow at the prestigious Bascom Palmer Eye Institute of University of Miami.

Linda RichardsonGlaucoma Patient Linda is a retired speech and language pathologist who worked with young children with autism and anAnglican priest who serves as assisting clergy in a local parish. She’s a wife, mother, and grandmother.

Inder Paul Singh, MDGlaucoma Specialist, The Eye Centers of Racine & KenoshaDr. I. Paul Singh, a Wisconsin native, is the President of The Eye Centers of Racine & Kenosha, Ltd.,founded in 1981 by his father, Dr. Kanwar A. Singh. He was a chief resident and completed his residencyat Cook County Hospital – Division of Ophthalmology, and his internship at Michael Reese Hospital –Department of Medicine, both in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Finch University of HealthSciences/The Chicago Medical School in 1999.

Ruth D. Williams, MDGlaucoma Specialist, Wheaton Eye Clinic Dr. Williams is a glaucoma specialist at the Wheaton Eye Clinic, an ophthalmology practice founded in1942 that provides subspecialty eye care to more than 140,000 patients annually. She is a past presidentof the American Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Williams joined the GRF Board of Directors in 2015 andcurrently serves as Vice Chair. She is a member of the Board’s Executive and Strategic PlanningCommittees, and Chair of the Board’s Leadership Committee.

Richie KahnGlaucoma PatientRichie Kahn is a healthy policy nerd” by training, an ophthalmology clinical researcher by trade, and apatient advocate by necessity. For the last decade, Richie has been working to build awareness of clinicalresearch as a care option and the need for advocating for what is best for individual patients.
