2020 Community Cats TNR Grant presented by
Humane Society of Macomb Foundation and Michigan Pet Fund Alliance
Michigan Pet Fund Alliance is committed to ending the outdated and inhumane “catch and kill” policies to control cat populations. Scientific research proves that killing healthy or treatable community cats actually opens up the area to an influx of new cats. When asked, the general public would rather see their tax money fund programs that help cats, not kill them. Alley Cat Allies states: “Community cats are domestic cats—the same species as pet cats. The difference is that community cats are unowned and generally not socialized to people, so they cannot be adopted. But community cats are not homeless. They have a home: the outdoors.” GRANT OPPORTUNITY Thanks to a generous donation by Humane Society of Macomb Foundation, the Michigan Pet Fund Alliance will offer one Community Cats TNR Grant of $5,000 to launch a new TNR (trap-neuter-return) program.
