Edition Significant Changes
• The next version of the Florida
Building Code (FBC) will be
the 2020 7th Edition.
• This edition will come into
effect December 31, 2020.
• All applications turned in after
the close of the business day
on December 30, 2020, will be
applicable to the 2020 7th
Edition of the FBC.

height in 7-16
• If the parapet walls are ≥ 3 ft on the roof,
the wind pressures are the same on
Corners P(3) as they are for Perimeters
P(2)
• All 4 roof zones may not be present on a
roof

possible, which are dependent on
• The roof eave height (h)
• The smaller horizontal dimension
• The larger horizontal dimension
• These layouts are job site specific.

HVHZ Roofing
• Table 1515.2 Note:1. Standing seam metal
roof panel systems that pass the
requirements of the Static Water Leakage
Test criteria of FM 4471, Appendix G or
ASTM E2140 shall be permitted to be
installed to a minimum slope of 1:12.
• E-Permitting is updated & ready to launch
on Dec. 31, 2020.
