Ontario Secondary School ApplicantsIf you are a current full-time Ontario secondary school student, your school will issue a PIN giving you access to the OUAC “101” online application, and will send us your marks via the OUAC.
All Other ApplicantsApply online using the “105” application. If you were previously registered or are currently registered at U of T, apply online using the “Internal” application. Visit future.utoronto.ca/apply/applying for details.

Part-Time Degree ApplicantsPart-time degree studies begin in September (Fall/Winter session) or May (Summer session) only. Apply online using the Part-Time Degree application at future.utoronto.ca/apply/applying. For a complete list of programs that are offered on a part-time basis, refer to the online application. Part-time students can take courses during the day and evening (when available). Students who are only able to attend classes in the evening should consult the appropriate online timetable at www.utoronto.ca.
Non-Degree ApplicantsNon-degree studies begin in September or May only. If you wish to enrol in degree credit arts and/or science courses but not towards a degree, apply online using the Non-Degree application at future.utoronto.ca/apply/applying. Please note that it may not be possible to register in courses that are in high demand.

Once we receive your application, we will send you an email acknowledgement, including full information about the next steps in the application process.
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTSApplicants who have attained a high level of academic achievement and who completely satisfy prerequisites will be considered for admission. The minimum requirements for admission consideration vary by program and admission category. You must present all the requirements, including prerequisite courses, to be considered. All of our programs have limited spaces and the admission selection process is competitive. Some programs require a supplementary application, check faculty and program admission information for details. See also: English Language Requirements. For details regarding the admission requirements for each program, visit future.utoronto.ca and refer to the information that matches your academic background.
Canadian Secondary SchoolRefer to the Canadian Secondary School Qualifications and Course Equivalents chart for detailed information about minimum admission requirements for Canadian secondary school applicants. Secondary School and Diploma must be recognized by the Provincial Ministry of Education. Applicants must present all the requirements, including prerequisite courses (see program charts) and supplementary or profile information (if required). All programs have limited space and the admission selection process is competitive. Transfer credit towards arts, science and commerce/management programs is considered for some academic AP and IB subjects. More information is available at uoft.me/transferal.
International BaccalaureateThe diploma including English HL or SL is required. Applicants should present Mathematics HL or SL for programs requiring Calculus (Math Studies is not acceptable). Applicants must present all the requirements, including prerequisite courses (see program charts) and supplementary or profile information (if required). All programs have limited space and the admission selection process is competitive.
Transfer credit towards arts, science, and commerce/management programs is considered for some IB Higher Level Subjects with a grade of at least 5. More information is available at: future.utoronto.ca/transfercredit.
Ontario Colleges of Applied Arts and Technology (CAAT) / Institutes of Technology and Advanced LearningExcellent overall grade point average in an academic program is required for admission consideration. All program prerequisites must be met at the Grade 12 U/M level and all supplementary or profile information (if required) must be presented. Two full CAAT semesters of an academic subject may be considered as equivalent to a Grade 12 U/M level prerequisite.
Applicants who have completed a two-year academic diploma may receive up to three full credits towards an arts, science, commerce/management program. Applicants holding a three-year academic diploma or a four-year degree may receive up to five credits towards a degree. The admission selection process is competitive.

University Transfer ApplicantsArts, Science and BusinessApplicants must meet the minimum admission requirements for their program. Refer to future.utoronto.ca for detailed information about requirements for your educational jurisdiction.
Applicants who have completed studies beyond the minimum requirements at a recognized postsecondary institution will be considered for a maximum of two years of transfer credits.
Transfer credits will be assessed after admission, and once the Transfer Credit Assessment application has been completed. Details will be provided after an offer of admission is made. Interviews may be required.
Applicants who already hold a bachelor’s degree, or have completed more than two years of degree studies at another recognized postsecondary institution can only apply to a different field of study. For instance students who have completed a degree in, or have majored in economics, management, commerce or business, cannot complete a Bachelor of Commerce or Bachelor of Business Administration degree. If admitted to a different program, these applicants will be granted a maximum of one year of transfer credit (five full credit courses).
Undergraduate degree holders who wish to take additional undergraduate courses in their field, perhaps in order to qualify for graduate level studies, may consider applying for Non-degree studies. Please note that it may not be possible to register as a Non-degree student in courses that are in high demand.
All Other Program AreasExcellent academic achievement is required for admission consideration. Applicants admitted to other divisions may receive a statement regarding transfer credit assessment procedures at the time of admission or shortly thereafter or after registration.
Applicants who hold an undergraduate degree in Engineering cannot be offered admission to our undergraduate Engineering program.
BRIDGING PROGRAMSThe Academic Bridging Program, Woodsworth College, St. George campus and U of T Mississauga Bridging Pathway provide an opportunity for Canadian citizens/permanent residents/protected persons (convention refugees) who do not hold the published admission requirements to qualify for degree studies. ENGLISH LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTSProof of adequate English facility is required from all applicants except for those:• whose first language (i.e. the language
learned at home as a child) is English, or• who have achieved satisfactory academic
progress in at least four years of full-time study in an English language school system located in a country where the dominant language is English, or
• whose first language is French and who have achieved satisfactory academic progress in at least four years of full-time study in Canada.

COMMON TESTS / QUALIFICATIONS• Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)
Internet-based test: total score of 100 + 22 on writing section. Scores in a discretionary range of between 89-99+22 will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.
• International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: Minimum overall band of 6.5 with no band lower than 6.0.
• International Baccalaureate English: Higher Level or Standard Level English A: Literature or English A: Language and Literature with a minimum score of 4 (predicted or final). English B Higher Level is not acceptable.
• GCSE/IGCSE/GCE O Level English: English or English Language or English as a Second Language with minimum grade of 'B' (or '6' in reformed qualifications).
• GCE A/AS/AICE Level English: English or English Language with minimum grade of ‘C.’
• Academic English Course, School of Continuing Studies, University of Toronto: Academic English Level 60 with grade of 'B'. Detailed information at english.learn.utoronto.ca.
Academically qualified students who do not meet our English language requirements may be interested in one of our English language programs. These programs, if completed successfully, will allow students to meet the English language facility requirement. They are offered on each campus and range in length from six weeks to eight months. These programs include:

SCHOLARSHIPS & FINANCIAL AIDThe University has comprehensive scholarship and financial aid programs that provide financial support and recognition for outstanding academic achievement at different levels of study. The University, its colleges, and faculties, award approximately 4,500 admission scholarships that total more than $20 million and 5,000 in-course scholarships each year. The University’s Policy on Student Financial Support states that no student admitted to a program at the University of Toronto will be unable to enrol or complete the program because they do not have sufficient funds. This commitment to students who are Canadian citizens, permanent residents or protected persons means that the University will supplement the funding provided by government sources. This financial assurance is called UTAPS (University of Toronto Advanced Planning for Students). More details can be found at uoft.me/faa.
U of T Scholars ProgramThe University of Toronto Scholar Program provides recognition to the University’s outstanding students. In 2019 we offered more than 700 admission awards to incoming first-year students, each valued at $7,500. All applicants are considered automatically for these scholarships based on their academic performance.
President’s Scholars of Excellence Approximately 75 of the most highly qualified students applying to first year of direct entry, undergraduate studies will be distinguished as President’s Scholars of Excellence.
This distinction includes a $10,000 entrance scholarship in first year; guaranteed access to part-time, meaningful, on-campus employment during second year; and guaranteed access to an international learning opportunity during a student’s university studies. Outstanding students are considered automatically for these scholarships.
National Scholarship ProgramThe National Scholarship rewards committed Canadian secondary school students who demonstrate superior academic performance, original and creative thought, and exceptional achievement in a broad context. They excel in academic pursuits, demonstrate enthusiasm for intellectual exploration and have a strong involvement in the lives of their schools and communities. Each year approximately ten students are named National Scholars and ten are named Arbor Scholars. Lester B. Pearson International ScholarshipWhile the National Scholarship Program is for Canadian students, international students studying in Canada can be nominated for the Lester B. Pearson International Scholarship. Learn more at pearson.utoronto.ca.
Other AwardsAwards which recognize factors such as financial need, outstanding leadership, community involvement or excellence in the Humanities are also available. The application for these special awards is available through the Awards Profile after you have applied.
Applicants who have previously attended a postsecondary institution are not eligible for awards consideration on admission.
U of T’s colleges, faculties and divisions also offer scholarships, some of which require a separate application.

HOUSING & RESIDENCE 2019-20Residence is guaranteed for all new full-time students entering their first year of university in an undergraduate program for the first time, provided that they have indicated their interest in residence by completing the First Year StarRez application by March 31, and receive and accept an offer of admission by June 1. Students must respond to all deadlines and meet all deposit requirements in order to maintain their eligibility. The undergraduate program is accredited in Kinesiology and in Physical Education Teacher Preparation. Students planning to take upper year biology courses in university should take Grade 12 Chemistry. Students wishing to add a minor or major in Psychology to their Kinesiology degree should take Grade 12 Calculus. Jazz applicants are required to submit an audition recording for pre-screening by January 10, 2020. Successful applicants will be invited to audition in person. See uoft.me/studyMusic for further details.
All applicants are required to submit a Music Questionnaire by January 10, 2020. The Music Questionnaire will be available online at uoft.me/applyundergrad in November. Applicants are encouraged to complete this application online and submit it to the Faculty of Music as early as possible to increase the chance of securing their preferred audition date.
A maximum of two Grade 12 Music credits may be counted in the admission average. All classical applicants must provide proof of completion of RCM Level 8 Theory (or equivalent) with a minimum grade of 60%, by June 19, 2020. RCM Level 9 Harmony is also strongly recommended. Jazz applicants will be required to write the Faculty of Music Jazz Entrance Theory Exam. All applicants must complete an audition. Applicants within a 400 km radius of Toronto must audition in person. Others are able to send in a recording, although a live audition is highly recommended. Auditions are scheduled in February and early March. Please review uoft.me/MusicAdmReq for guidelines.

JOHN H. DANIELS FACULTY OF ARCHITECTURE, LANDSCAPE, AND DESIGN (HBA)
All students are required to complete the One Idea supplementary application to be considered for admission. The deadline for the One Idea supplementary application is January 27, 2020. Details can be found at uoft.me/oneidea. Please note that both professions of Architecture and Landscape Architecture require a graduate degree at the master’s level.
