There is a misprint in the part that needs to be clarified for students who are auditioning at All-State in March. There seems to be a misprint. One quarter note of the quarter-note triplet=one subsequent eighth note. Therefore, the quarter-note triplet could be thought as (&-4-&) in the new tempo. Does this help? Take Care, Eric J. This is align with the 105 tempo. Here is a picture to help. Think of the quarter note triples in the previous measure as the eighth notes of the cymbal etude. 2020 11/12 Snare Audition Clarification

I have been in touch with Dr. Eric Willie the writer of the book All-Inclusive Audition Etudes that we use for the section percussion audition.

Take Care,

Eric J. Willie, D.M.A. Associate Professor of Percussion

I spoke with Dr. Willie today on the phone to confirm. The final QUARTER note in the description should be changed to an EIGHTH note. This is align with the 105 tempo. Here is a picture to help. Think of the quarter note triples in the previous measure as the eighth notes of the cymbal etude.
