STEAMED EUROPEAN BEECH

Euro Beech is one of the most popular wood species in Europe. It is whitish to yellow in colour but darkens with a slightly reddish tinge once lacquered or oiled. A relatively straight grain with very smallflecks are unique characteristics of the Euro Beech veneer. Comes on a birch plywood core. All kinds of surface treatment are possible and the wood is particularly suitable for dark staining.

AMERICAN WALNUT

A much sought-after, precious furniture wood, American Walnut is used for interior architectural woodwork. Precious dark brown veneer on a birch plywood or MR MDF core. "Bird pecks" - fingernail size knots and pockets which occur in the veneer - are a unique feature. Very smooth surface that takes all stains well. The wood is very suitable for polishing.

SMOKED OAK

Used primarily in interior architectural woodwork and furniture,the smoking or “fuming” of the oak – already rich in tannin – makesit even darker. The special process adds ammonium and, in contrast to stained or dyed timber, the resulting colour is extremely resistant to UV light and fading. Easy to varnish, it does not require staining.

Veneer or sawn wood for furniture, Knotty Oak is used for panelling and sophisticated interior architectural woodwork, for parquet floors and staircases. The heartwood knotty oak veneer is light brown to yellow-brown and darkens with age. Small, clean knots are black filled to produce a smooth surface. Oak can be treated with any type of surface finish.

Venetian Oak is reclaimed oak from the canals of Venice. A wormthat lives in the canals eats away at the city’s famous wharf poles,weakening them over time. This Malaysian Meranti Marine plywood is highly sought-after in all of New Zealand due to its impact resistance, cabinetry strength and surface finish characteristics. Very attractive, with an irregular grain pattern, and colour that can vary a little, this veneer is rotary cut. This type of plywood has water resistant properties and is regarded as one of the most cost-effective options for interior plywood applications.

FIXING RECOMMENDATIONS

GLUE AND PIN

The Glue and pin method of fixing plywood panels to your interior

walls is the fastest and most cost effective way of doing it. You

simply apply your preferred timber adhesive to the framing, line

up your sheets and brad or pin them on. This leaves a very small

pin hole in the face of the sheet which you can simply leave as is

or fill with a matching wood filler. There are two ways of joining

the sheets, you can make a feature of it by doing a negative detail.

Simply paint the framing black and space the sheets 10mm apart to

form a shadow line. Another way to do it is cut a very small chamfer

on the outward facing corner of each joining sheet and then butt

them up to create a small v groove between the sheets.

FASTMOUNT CONCEALED FIXING

Fastmount concealed panel mounting offers secure, hidden, removable fixings that allow installers

to perfectly align each panel for a clean finish. Designed and manufactured in New Zealand, the clips

allow individual panels to be removed with ease in a non-sequential system, so are capable of being

replaced back in the exact position each time, or adjusted as needed. The precise positioning of each

panel creates a consistently superior veneer across surfaces for a quality finish every time.

Wipe the wall clean with a dry cloth.

Remove the plastic foil from the adhesive strips.

The first two components form the baseline for all the other components on the wall.

Use the sandpaper to smooth the sawn edges.

Leave a gap of 2 centimetres to the top end of the wall and from this point, measure a multiple of 13 centimetres downwards.

Start with the first row below the drawn auxiliary line.

If you need to trim any of the pieces just mark it with a pencil.

The cut components can be equipped with the adhesive strips that are enclosed.

At this point draw a horizontal line using a spirit level.

The second component should be placed offset above the auxiliary line.

For trimming the components a customary handsaw, circular saw, jigsaw or chop saw is needed.

Finished! You will be delighted by the great result only after a short time.

In order to get accustomed to the indoor climate, the opened Stick2Wood package needs to be left in the intended room for 48 hours. Each package contains 2.4 qm.

A saw, a spirit level, a tape measure and sandpaper are the only things you need. For the cleaning of the wall and removal of the nails you also need pliers and a dry cloth.

Remove the nails, screws, etc. from the wall.

GRIPDECK DUO

Gripdeck Duo is a grey anti-slip pattern plywood for interiors. The anti- slip pattern has a very hard and durable rubber coating that is highly resistant to wear.

It is used for transport, vehicle interior floors and interior cool store floors.

Grip Deck Duo is strong birch plywood coated with a slip-resistant plastic coating. The tough and elastic polypropylene surface maintains its original colour over the years. The coating also provides an easy to clean hygienic surface.

FLAMESHIELD POPLAR

This ground-breaking product is an aesthetically pleasing and practical solution to increasingly stringent fire regs. for commercial and public buildings, including restaurants and schools.

Because the fire-challenging properties of the product are intrinsic (Each ply veneer of the Flameshield Poplar is soaked in a fire retardent, rather than having a treatment painted on), it can be sanded or machined without losing any of its retardant qualities.

Lightness and durability makes this a very attractive material to use where practicality, safety and cost-effectiveness need to be balanced.Flameshield Poplar is available in 12mm with a sheet size of 2500 x 1220. This Product Has a European Fire rating of B-s2-d0 without any coating, which is equivalent to an NZ standard of Group 1S.

Use of this product is subject to approval by the designated Fire Engineer for each specific project.

OSMO OIL

The natural alternative to polyurethane. Osmo's Polyx®-Oil is a traditional Hardwax Oil. Polyx®-Oil is recommended for finishing interior timber flooring, timber furniture, timber beams, sarking, paneling and childrens toys, cots and bassinets. Suitable for most timbers, including pine, macrocarpa, jarrah, oak, beech, some eucalypts and rimu and all plywoods.

RESENE AQUALAQ

Resene AquaLAQ Quick Dry Sealer is a unique waterborne sealer designed to seal off grain raising in MDF to provide a sound, flat, and high quality substrate ready to be top coated. With minimal sanding required, you can enjoy lower labour costs. Enjoy low odour and low VOC with this product.

The clear sealer may also be used on timber and timber/paper veneers, which would normally be susceptible to moisture, to highlight their warmth and grain while providing a sealed substrate suitable for top coating.

Plywood is one of the most versatile materials used in construction.

Besides the fact that plywood is a strong and durable material, it is

also relatively cheaper compared to other similar wooden boards.

However, for the plywood to stay in great shape for a long time,

we need the right plywood finish. Knowing the right type of finish

Handling & Storage

Plywood is a natural timber product that can be affected by changes in ambient weather conditions, possibly causing previously flat sheets to bow. Precautions are taken to minimise this. However, once the plywood has left our warehouse, we cannot guarantee sheets to remain flat unless fastened. This is particularly important where free standing kitchen/cabinet doors are concerned.

All storage must be in a flat position with adequate face protection.

Construction Plywood

Construction plywood sold by Plymasters is not necessarily “structurally rated” for use in bracing situations unless stated.

Exterior Conditions

Most plywoods, apart from the Euro Gripdeck, do not carry guarantees for NZ exterior weather conditions. If Marine ply is used in exterior situations, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to provide adequate surface and edge protection to ensure ultimate performance.
