NOV 2/3 & NOV 9/10
INCLUDING THE 2019KĀPITI ARTS TRAIL
Proudly supported by:
10am–5pm
Welcome from Mayor Guru …….to the Creative Kapiti CoastIt’s exciting to be getting on with another year of showing off the creative people and artwork of our District, with the launch of this year’s Kāpiti Arts Guide and the list of artists who’ll be hosting visitors during our Arts Trail 2019.The range of art on offer is as diverse as ever in 2019, with artistic mediums on display including
everything from paint, print, and sculpture to the opportunity to view tattooists at work.I’m looking forward again to joining Kāpiti artists in their creative spaces on both Spring weekends this November, as my wife Claire and I take the traditional Mayoral tour through the District. Whether you’re a visitor or local we hope to see you out there.Of course, this Guide is something to hold on to throughout the year. Many of our artists have their work available to view in their studios and in the host of local Kāpiti galleries spread along our string of townships. We’re now in our 19th year of inviting locals and out-of-towners to join us on the Trail to share our love of Kāpiti art, and each year the number of studios and galleries opening their doors grow, offering an ever-changing view of the creative processes going on behind them. It’s a view as diverse as the views our own Kāpiti Island offers us as she moves and changes, through the days, nights and seasons of our beautiful piece of Aotearoa. I invite you to join us to experience it all.Mayor Guru
