PENN STATE OPENS BIG TEN PLAY AT OHIO STATEThe Penn State men’s soccer team, under second-year head coach Jeff Cook, opens 2019 Big Ten conference play at Ohio State on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Field in Columbus.

PENN STATE AGAINST OHIO STATE » Penn State leads the overall series with Ohio State, 19-14-4, and

will face the Buckeyes Saturday for the 38th time in program history.

» Penn State is 3-2-1 against Ohio State in the last five seasons, which includes a matchup in the Big Ten Tournament in 2015.

» Last season, the Nittany Lions defeated the Buckeyes, 3-1, at Jeffrey Field, also in the Big Ten opener.

» Molloy earned preseason honors for the third consecutive season. In 2018, Molloy was named to the All-Big Ten second team and the United Soccer Coaches All-North Region third team. The midfielder had two goals and two assists in 15 matches last season.

» Hackenberg earned preseason honors for the first time in his career. The defender appeared in all 17 matches for the Nittany Lions in 2018 as a key member of the backline that record six clean sheets, including three against Big Ten opponents.
