    Entry Closing Date: Monday October 14, 2019Entry Fee: $50 per entry

    Late Entry Fee: Entries after October 14, 2019 - $250 per entry

    All Ontario exhibitors must remain stalled until release is announcedby the Dairy Cattle Superintendent at 4pm Sunday November 10, 2019. Failture to comply will result in disciplinary action.

    Note: It is important that ALL Ontario Dairy Exhibitors maintain their herd display and a clean barn Sunday, November 10th as a marketing opportunity for the Ontario Dairy Industry. Therefore, ALL Ontario Dairy Exhibitors must remain stalled until release is announced by the Dairy Cattle Superintendent at4pm Sunday. Failure to comply will result in disciplinary action.

    Attention US Exhibitors: Please refer to the Livestock Rules for Import Permit Process and Testing Requirements.Standard Agreement Form: All exhibitors must read and acknowledge they under-stand the Dairy Cattle Code of Ethics by signing the entry form. Entries will not be processed if the Standard Agreement Between Owners and Fitters for Dairy Shows section is not signed.

    For all Ayrshire excessive hair beyond 1.5 inch from the skin is an unacceptable practice. All Ayrshire entries will be examined before entering the ring and any animal with the height of hair on its topline exceeding 1.5 inch will not be allowed to enter the ring. Moreover, an exhibitor will not be permitted a second chance to trim the hair to the desired length for showing, once it is first measured.

    Please Note: The Royal will not issue payment on earnings less than $25.Six (6) placings will be awarded prize money when there are 10 or more animals exhibited in the class.Four (4) placings will be awarded prize money when there are 9 or fewer animals exhibited in the class.

    To be eligible for participation in the 2019 National Ayrshire Show at The Royal, an animal must have a percentage of purity equal to or greater than 87%, according to the Ayrshire Canada calculation method.

Any non-milking heifer may be exhibited up to the age of intermediate yearling. The animal must be exhibited at the Royal Ayrshire Show. The participants must pre-register with Ayrshire Canada the morning of the show.Prize Money: 1st - $50 2nd - $40 3rd - $30All remaining entries – $20 paid directly by the Ayrshire Breeders’ Association of Canada.     The Stansell Challenge Trophy (Perpetual)Presented to Best Cow, any age, in milk, bred and owned by the exhibitor, that has qualified in the “Record of Performance” with the highest protein yield. The qualifying record must be reported on the Entry Form. Previous winners of this award will not be eligible. Presented in memory of the late John L. Stansell, Aylmer, ON.

    Premier Exhibitor Award

    individual, partnership or institution winning the most points with a maximum of six (6) head owned and exhibited by the exhibitor in the open single Classes. Points will be automatically calculated on only the exhibitor’s six (6) highest placing animals. Points will be awarded as follows:

    Family Unit: If an animal or several animals are registered with an Ayrshire Association in the names of immediate members of a family, these persons may combine their entries as a “Family Unit” and be considered as one exhibitor. In order to qualify as a “Family Unit”, all animals must be kept in the same herd.

    Premier Breeder Award

    individual, partnership or institution winning the most points on animals bred by him/her in the open single Classes including animals bred by him/her but exhibited by others. No limit on number exhibited but award automatically figured on top six (6) animals. Points will be awarded the same as for the Premier Exhibitor.

    Production AwardPresented to recognize the achievements of the Ayrshire Breed, the recipient of this award must have placed among the top five in its Class and have the highest composite BCA on any completed record. Entries in classes 2, 3, 4, 5 and the Mature Cow classes are eligible. It is the responsibility of the Exhibitor to provide proof of production. This award is sponsored by CanWest DHI.

    The J.H. Black Memorial Trophy (Perpetual)Presented to the highest yielding Ayrshire Cow for fat. To be eligible, a cow must have placed within the first five placings in the Class in which she is shown. Presented by the Ayrshire Breeders Assoc. of Canada in memory of the late J.H. Black, Lachute, QC.

    The John D. McCaig Memorial Trophy (Perpetual)Donated by the Ayrshire Breeders’s Association of Canada in memory of the late John D. McCaig. Presented to the exhibitor of the cow with the highest composite BCA on any completed record. To be eligible the cow must place in the top two of her class.

  • 2019 QUALITY SEEDS SUPREME DAIRY CHAMPIONS

    Date: Saturday November 9, 2019Time: 4:30 pm

    Location: Semex Ring of Excellence

    QUALITY SEEDS SUPREME DAIRY CHAMPION The Grand Champions from the National Ayrshire Show, the National Black and White Holstein Show, the National Red and White Holstein Show and the National Jersey Show will compete for the title of Supreme Dairy Champion and a prize of $1,000.

    QUALITY SEEDS SUPREME JUNIOR DAIRY CHAMPIONThe Junior Champions from the Canadian 4-H Dairy Classic, the National Ayrshire Show, the National Black and White Holstein Show, the National Red and White Holstein Show and the National Jersey Show will compete for the new title of Supreme Dairy Junior Champion and a prize of $500.
