• DEADLINE: The deadline for team registration will be communicated by the IFSC to the National Federations qualified to the event.
• START LIST: Registered competitors not confirmed as present November 27, 2019 during the registration time will be deleted from the Official Starting List.
08/11/2011: At the conclusion of the 2019 World Cup, the IFSC Office opened the registration process for the athletes eligible to compete in the Combined Qualifier in Toulouse. During a revision of this process, Tokyo 2020 Sport Entry did not accept the limitation per country, so the IFSC Office had to freeze some athletes

QUALIFICATION SYSTEM – UPDATED 22/11/2019
1 Quotas
1.1 Event and Athlete Quota
Quota Places for the 2019 Qualification Event will be allocated to Athletes by name. The Athlete
Quota will be 22 for each gender, men and women.
1.2 Selection Criteria
The Athlete Quota within each gender will be filled from:
1) the highest ranked Athletes from the IFSC Combined World Cup Ranking as at 01 November
2019; and/or
2) where following (1) the Athlete Quota remains incomplete, the highest ranked Athletes
from the 2019 World Championship Combined Ranking,
in each case
a) excluding any Athletes who have a confirmed Quota Place for Tokyo 2020 Olympic
Games following the 2019 Combined World Championship;
2 Athletes Eligibility
To be eligible to participate in the IFSC Combined Qualifier, all athletes must:
a. Hold a valid International Licence issued by the IFSC at the date of the Registration Date
for the relevant event;
b. in respect of the 2019 Qualification Event only, has not been the subject of either
i) any disqualification from competition under Article 3 of the IFSC Rules in the 2019
year; or
ii) any doping violation under Article 4 of the IFSC rules;
c. Have a valid rank in the Combined World Cup Ranking during the 2019 year and as
further specified in Section 3.2 of this document.
3 Confirmation Process for Quota Places
The IFSC will publish the results of the:
• IFSC Combined World Championships within two (2) days after the last day of the event on
its website at link
• IFSC Combined Qualifier within 2 days after the last day of the event on its website at link
The IFSC will follow the steps outlined in Section G Qualification Timeline of the Tokyo 2020
Qualification System document for confirmation and allocation of quota places.
4 Reallocation of Unused Quota Places
If an allocated quota place is not registered to the event by the NF by the registration of quota
place deadline, the quota place will be reallocated to the next eligible best-ranked athlete.
In case there are no athletes eligible from the Combined World Cup Ranking (there are no
eligible names on the Combined World Cup Ranking), then the quota place will be reallocated
to the next best-ranked athlete, not yet qualified and respecting NFs quota allocation, at the
IFSC Combined World Championships (WCH) 2019, Tokyo, (JPN).
5 Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games Quota Places
For each gender, the six (6) highest ranked Athletes from the 2019 IFSC Combined Qualifier will
each be allocated a provisional Quota Place for Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, which will be
subject to acceptance/confirmation by their NOC.
