Always Improving St. Louis has invested over $2 million in improvements in the downtown area. Victorian streetlights, trees and flower plant- ings, stamped concrete, new sidewalks, parking lots and alley- ways combine to create a quality atmosphere for downtown shoppers. M-46 and Business Route US-127 are both scenic entryways to the downtown and there is ample convenient parking. St. Louis continues to work hard in this area for the benefit of its citizens as well as its guests. In 2019, St. Louis received a $50,000 grant from the Gratiot County Community Foundation to assist in the renovation of the pool house at the W.T. Morris Memorial Swimming Pool. Located right downtown next to City Hall, the pool is open June through August and provides a wonder- ful recreational option for the St. Louis area.
