2019 District 7 4-H Roundup

District 7 4-H Roundup will be held on May 10, 2019 in San Angelo. Entries are open on 4-H Connect – April 8th and close April 22nd. Any late entries will incur a $50 late fee in addition to the original contest fee. There will be an informational meeting at the Eula 4-H Club meeting on Thursday, April 4th at 7:00 PM at the Eula High School Cafeteria. There are many different contests that you can compete in.

doing a recordbook?

A recordbook is for a young person to develop the skills necessary to set goals, work toward achieving those goals, reflect on his/her experiences, and set new and higher goals for themselves. A secondary benefit is to prepare young people for the process of completing quality academic scholarship applications. We will be having Recordbook training on Monday, April 22nd at 5:30 PM at the Extension Office. There are several changes for the 2018 – 2019 year.

• June 3rd – Recordbooks due for the County Recordbook Contest

• July 9th – District Recordbook Contest

District 7 Rifle Contest

District Rifle Contest will be held on April 27, 2019 in Brady. All entries must go through 4-H Connect (opens April 1st – 15th) https://www.4honline.com Any entries made after the 15th will incur a $50 late fee in addition to the original contest fee. AGE DIVISIONS The following contestant ages are as of August 31, 2018:

• JUNIOR – age 8 and in the 3rd grade to 5th grade • INTERMEDIATE – grades 6, 7, and 8th • SENIOR – grades 9, 10, 11 and 12 (Max age 18 as of August 31)

If you will be entering this contest you must enter on 4-H Connect and through the Extension Office.

Orientation at 8:45 a.m.

Start time 9:00 a.m.

Age Classifications:

Participants will compete individually within their age division determined as of August 31, 2018

1st Year Junior Division- 3rd-5th grade

Junior – 3rd through 5th grade

Intermediate – 6th through 8th grade

Seniors – 9th through 12th grade

Bow Classifications Recurve: Bows may be equipped with a single sighting device, single pin, multiple pin, or hunting style sights; may not be

equipped with string peeps or string marks for rear sights. This class includes all bare bows/long bows

Compound UnAided: Bows may not be equipped with magnified sights or stabilizers. Bows may be equipped with single

pin or multiple pin sights. Mechanical release aids are not permitted.

Compound Aided: Bows may be equipped with magnified sights and stabilizers.

NASP: Genesis bow (No Genesis Pro’s allowed) no sights or sighting marks, no stabilizers, and no mechanical release aids

permitted. This class is utilizing NASP equipment only.

We will not have a Concession Stand Available

Awards will follow the completion of all events.

First - Fifth place awarded for each age division and classification.

We ask that everyone please remain for the awards in support of the shooters.

Score cards will be available after awards. Those not claimed will be disposed of.

4-H MULTI COUNTY CAMP (Brown, Callahan, Concho, Llano, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Runnels)

❖ Adult chaperones are needed to transport youth to camp and assist with activities and

must be an approved 4-H volunteer.

Date: July 10, 11, 12, 2019

Place: Heart of Texas Bible Camp, 130 PR 734 Brady, TX

Registration Deadline: Tuesday, June 11, 2019

Times: Begins: Wednesday, July 10 at 3:00 pm

Ends: Friday, July 12 at 9:00 am (After camp clean up)

Cost: $65.00 per Youth camper $20.00 per Adult camper

Ages: Jr. & Intermediate age 4-H members for the 2018-2019 4-H year.

(under 8 must be accompanied by a parent with CEA approval)

Sr. Members may attend only as Teen Leaders with CEA approval.

Forms are available at the Extension Office.

Completed forms and camp fee are due in the Extension office by June 11, 2018.

Event date: Tuesday, June 18th, 2019

Location: Spur Arena San Angelo, Texas

Entry deadline: 4-H Connect (Opens May 13th - June 3rd)

will incur a $50 late fee in addition to the original contest fee.

Horses must be validated by May 1st. Horses not validated on or before May 1st are ineligible for

District and State Horse Shows.

The current Texas Animal Health Commission regulation states that all equine must have a

negative test for EIA conducted within the previous 12 months. This will include both the

District 7 4-H Horse Show and Texas 4-H Horse Show.
