AACM—Arizona Association of Community Managers

A little bit about us…

The Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM) is a non-profit professional trade association which began in 2003 with seven Founding Community Management Companies, and represents a large portion of Arizona’s managed communities. AACM is a driving force in Arizona’s economy contributing hundreds of millions of dollars through countless jobs and tax revenue. AACM is the first managers’ organization in Arizona whose membership is comprised entirely of community management companies, community managers, and community service providers (Affiliate Partners) specifically for Arizona.

Mission

The Arizona Association of Community Managers (AACM) promotes a positive perception of homeowners’ associations and raises the standard of care in Arizona’s managed communities. It does this through its professional certification of community managers (CAAM), proactive outreach to Arizona homeowners, and by being the “voice of reason” to the state’s legislature.

Vision

To achieve the highest level of professionalism in the care of Arizona’s managed communities.

Goals

• To educate the State Legislature, media, and homeowners association boards regarding the role of community management companies.

• To standardize and improve the way community association managers conduct business, through the professional education program Certified Arizona Association Manager (CAAM).

• To assist homeowners and military families in need through our AACM Homeowners Outreach Program Enterprise (HOPE) Grant program.

AACM’s Focus on Education

It’s all about Arizona

AACM’s Education Program provides Arizona specific curriculum for our Management Company Members and their staff.

CAAM and CAASP Designation—Stand out in the crowd

The CAAM (Certified Arizona Association Manager) and CAASP (Certified Arizona Association Support Professional) are Arizona-specific designations under the CAAM Certification Program signifying that a manager or community management industry professional is trained to address community association management issues specific to the laws and climate unique to the State of Arizona.

Boards and Communities Benefit

Homeowner Association Boards can feel confident when they choose an AACM Management Company Member to manage their communities. Combine AACM’s Certification Program, Membership Standards and Code of Ethics, with outstanding Affiliate Partners, and it’s a win-win for Arizona communities!

Education Makes the Difference

Course completion and testing requirements in the areas of essential management principles and ethical business practices round out the CAAM Certification Program curriculum, ensuring that community management professionals are comprehensively prepared to represent the values of Arizona's communities and homes.

Grow with Continuing Education

Continuing Education Units (CEUs) support the CAAM and CAASP designations by enhancing the professional education of those professionals who have completed a designation under the CAAM Certification Program through elective courses developed by AACM and approved by our Professional Standards Committee.

AACM has proudly issued over 1000 certifications to date!

AACM’s Focus on Legislation

Recognized as the Voice of Reason & Resource

AACM was born to give voice to management companies and association members at the legislative level and to establish a high standard for education, ethics, and sound business practices for management companies throughout the State of Arizona. A friend to legislators, AACM meets with and helps educate legislators as an advocate for our Management Company Members. AACM takes great pride in the fact that legislators regard AACM as the “voice of reason & resource”. Legislators know AACM to be a valuable resource—from resolving conflicts between HOAs and homeowners, to being a steadfast supporter of property rights and the freedom to contract, legislators know they can trust AACM.

AACM is Honored by Arizona Governor!

Arizona Governor Doug Ducey proclaimed September 17-21, 2018 as Community Manager Week! The State of Arizona Proclamation recognizes AACM’s promotion of a positive understanding of community associations, commitment to well-managed communities, proactive industry support, and AACM’s Certified Arizona Association Manager (CAAM) Education Program. We thank the Governor for recognizing the work AACM is doing to increase the ethics and professionalism of the industry as we strive to improve and strengthen Arizona’s managed communities.

Legislative Updates

AACM keeps our membership informed and up-to-date on HOA bills that may affect communities through our weekly Legislative Updates. When critical votes are on the line, AACM is ready to act by issuing a Community Action Notice (CAN) requesting an urgent call-to-action to help avoid unnecessary or damaging community management legislation. The impact of these notices and requests directly influences the legislation of the State of Arizona and therefore the communities managed by AACM members.

AACM PAC

What is AACM PAC? The Arizona Association of Community Managers’ Political Action Committee (AACM PAC) is a non-profit, non-partisan, state political action committee of the Arizona Association of Community Managers. AACM PAC was created to support the community management industry in Arizona, help pursue a stronger advocacy role, and to achieve greater political potency for Arizona’s community managers. Specifically, AACM PAC will support policies and candidates that further one’s right of freedom to contract, as well as, promote the conditions necessary for the establishment and maintenance of high-quality, well-managed neighborhoods.

What does a PAC do? A PAC builds and maintains key relationships in state government with lawmakers who are supportive of shared visions. The AACM PAC allows individuals to combine resources with peers who share like views and speaks on behalf of the community management industry in a strong, unified voice, helping pro-community manager candidates achieve or maintain office. Participating in the PAC helps us communicate to lawmakers the vital role that community managers and affiliate partners play in their communities every day. By sending out a universal message, we make our presence known, communicate our interests to lawmakers and help shape and protect the community management industry.

Contributions? PAC contributions support candidates for elected office who advocate for the right to contract, property rights, limited government regulation, and other issues critical issues Arizona’s community mangers and our affiliate partners. Contributing allows the AACM PAC to be a key-player in the public policymaking arena—and we must participate in the political process in order to be heard. Your participation is vital to the success of our advocacy efforts, and we hope you can join us!

Contributions come from individuals and are completely voluntary. For additional information regarding the AACM PAC, email [email protected] or call (602) 685-1111.

Contributions to AACM PAC are strictly voluntary and must be made from personal funds. You have the right to refuse to contrib-

ute to AACM PAC without reprisal. The purpose of the AACM PAC is for the benefit of political candidates and activities on a state

level that support AACM. Any guideline for a contribution amount is merely a suggestion. Contributions to AACM PAC are not tax

deductible.
