Newspapers & flyers

Use plastic garbage bags or metal or plasticcans (minimum size: 30 L; maximum size: 125 L).Maximum weight for bags or cans is 20 kg (44 lbs).

Large items such as furniture, mattresses, sofabeds can be placed at the curb.Remove mattresses from sofa beds and tie springsdown. Cut carpet into 1 m lengths and tie or tapeinto rolls. Separate tank from two piece toilets andempty water.

Maximum 2 cubic metres per collection.

Put your garbage at the curb by 7 a.m., but no earlier than 6 p.m. the night before.

Dog feces and cat litter must be double-bagged,free of liquids, and placed inside a larger bag.

Extra garbage: Tag it for curbside collection or bring to an EnviroDepot ($1.50/container). See right side box.

Don’t use undersized bags at the curb (grocery or kitchen).Bags less than 65 x 90 cm must be placed in regulation cansor bags.

These materials will not be collected:• Tires• Electronics• Metal appliances• Fluorescent bulbs & tubes• Litter, loose garbage/undersized items• Scrap metal (bikes, metal furniture, etc.)• Renovation materials (drywall, wood, etc.)

Don’t place garbage at the curb outside the specified hours.

Don’t put broken glass or sharp metal objects in regulargarbage. Place in a sealed cardboard box and clearly labelfor collectors.

Don’t put needles in the garbage. Place in a rigid containerand contact your local pharmacy or visit healthsteward.caor london.ca/needles for safe disposal options.

Maximum 3 Containers per collection.

Extra garbage:• Accepted at the

EnviroDepots for a fee.

• Tag garbage ($1.50/tag) for curbside collection. Purchase tags at the EnviroDepots.london.ca/garbage

• There are four 3 Container Exemption collection days per year when the limit is not enforced: in early September, following Christmas, following Easter, and in early May.

Yard Waste• Place Yard Waste at the curb

by 7 a.m. on the first day ofyour scheduled week, butno earlier than 6 p.m. thenight before.Crews will only collect fromeach street or complexonce.

• Includes: Christmas treesbrush, and pumpkins, orleaves in paper bags, plasticor metal cans between30 L – 125 L or certifiedcompostable bags withlogo:

• Brush must be less than10 cm in diameter and cutinto 1 m lengths. Tie inbundles with twine.

• Maximum weight percontainer or bundleis 20 kg (44 lbs).

• Container size:30 L minimum and125 L maximum.

• No grass clippings.

Recyclables in these containers will NOT be collected:

Place Christmas trees at the curb by 7 a.m. on Monday, January 6. Crews will only collect from each street or complex once. Remove all decorations and plastic bags. Trees in plastic bags will not becollected. In case of weather delay, trees will be collected the following week.

Winter Safety TipsPlease keep collectors safeby placing waste set outson level ground, within 1 m of curb and not onsnowbanks.
