6 . Can I have more than 1 Mentee?

Yes, Absolutely! The demand for Mentors is great. We encourage members that have the capacity to mentor more than one Mentee to do so.

7 . How are matches done?

Peel Mentoring Program participants are empowered with the ability to self-match to a Mentor of their choice. Matches are completed on MentorCity. When the Matching period opens, participants may login, search for and send an invitation to their chosen Mentor. Mentors may accept or decline an invitation. There are many reasons why a Mentor may decline an invitation. They may have already reached the maximum number of Mentees they feel they can responsibly support at that time – so don’t take a declined invitation personally. Search for a new Mentor and send an invitation. Once your invitation has been accepted, you are matched! Your next step is to register to attend the Mentoring Kickoff Event, where you will meet your partner in person and establish your Mentoring Agreement.

8. How long is a mentoring commitment?

Beginning in November, the mentoring term will be a minimum commitment of 1 hour per month for a period of not less than six months.

9. I travel for work and can’t always meet face to face. Can I still participate?

Mentoring doesn’t have to be face-to-face. Many successful partnerships exist using a host of technology at our disposal – Skype, telephone, email, text etc. Consider these options when making your participation decision.
