2018 Visa “Locals Only” Promotion Official Contest Rules, Terms & Conditions CONTEST PERIOD The VISA “Locals Only” promotion entries begin as of 12:00 am PST on October 1, 2018 and close as of 5:00 pm PST on December 31, 2018. The contest is organized and sponsored by Grand Forks Credit Union (gfcu). ELIGIBILITY The Contest is open to all legal residents of British Columbia who are of the age of majority at the time of entry into the contest. Employees and representatives of gfcu or its subsidiaries and affiliates, are not eligible to win, nor is any person of their immediate families. For the purposes of this contest, immediate family is defined as parents, spouse, children, siblings, grandparents, grandchildren and in-laws (including mother in-law, father in-law, sister in-law, brother in-law, daughter in-law and son in-law.) Additionally, anyone, whether related or not, living in the same home as the employee or representative are not eligible to enter. HOW TO ENTER To enter, entrants must successfully apply for and obtain at least one gfcu based Visa Credit Card.. All eligible entrants will be automatically entered into the final grand prize draws. Members can obtain one entry per every gfcu Visa Credit Card they successfully obtain. If a member does not wish to be entered into the Contest, they can indicate so to our staff during regular business hours by phone, email, or in person. PRIZE The “Locals Only” promotion contains three grand prizes, each estimated at an approximate value of $1500. Prize pack #1, referred to as “The Laker” will include a $350 dinner gift certificate OR a catered in-home meal for up to six people, a boat rental and/or boat tour, and a 2 night stay at accommodations in Christina Lake for up to 6 people. Prize pack #2, referred to as “The Local” will include 2 tickets to 2019 Cannafest, 4 tickets to 2019 GFI tournament, 4 day passes to the Phoenix Ski hill, and up to $500 in various local gift certificates. Prize pack #3, referred to as “The Paulson” will include 2 nights accommodation in Rossland, BC, as well as 4 day passes to the Rossland Ski hill, and up to $500 in spending cash. Winners may not trade, compare or change prizes. DRAW DATE The draws will take place during the first week of January, 2019. Potential winners will be notified by email or telephone and will be required to prove identity. gfcu will make a reasonable attempt to contact potential winners within 10 business days following the date of the draw. If a potential winner cannot be contacted within the time frame indicated above, the prize will be awarded to an alternate entrant who will be selected from the remaining eligible entries. PRIZE AWARDING Before being declared a winner, the selected entrant must first correctly answer a time-limited mathematical, skill-testing question. In addition, the selected entrant must sign a waiver of Liability, Rule Compliance, and Publicity Release, agreeing to the use of his or her name, photo, voice and/or statements without compensation other than the prize offered. Failure by the winner to complete and sign the required release form will result in the selected entrant being disqualified and another entry will be drawn. By entering the Contest, all entrants agree to be bound by the rules of the Contest. If you are selected as a potential winner, you will be provided with specific instructions as to what you are required to do to claim your prize. Prizes will be awarded only upon verification and final approval by gfcu. No correspondence will be entered into with entrants except with the selected Prize Winner. GENERAL PROVISIONS The sponsor reserves the right, in their sole discretion, to terminate the Contest, in whole or in part, or modify, amend or suspend the Contest and/or the Contest Rules, Terms & Conditions in any way at any time for any reason without prior notice or compensation. ALTERNATE MEANS OF ENTRY In accordance with applicable laws, no purchase is necessary. To enter the Contest without acquiring a gfcu Visa Credit Card, the Entrant must legibly hand-print: the date, their first and last name, complete mailing address, daytime telephone number, on a sheet of paper, and deliver it in person to the gfcu branch. All entries become the property of gfcu and will not be acknowledged or returned. Alternate means of participation must be postmarked on or prior to the Contest end date and must be received by December 31, 2018. The sponsor will not be responsible for late, lost, invalid, illegible, delayed, incomplete, stolen, misdirected, or postage-due entries. By using this alternate means of entry, you are providing us with your permission to enter you in the Contest and to communicate with you by telephone. Limit one entry per person per month.
