We have recently made a substantial addi-tion to our collection in the form of several hundred “Maker” books. New titles on high-tech skills and crafts such as 3D printing, robotics, coding, as well as music produc-tion, and photography are now being added to the small collection of books in the Tech Annex. Crafts, such as knitting, sewing, carving, soap and candle making, as well as studio-art processes such as draw-

ing and painting and sculpting, and quite a few books on salvaging and upcycling can now be found on display behind the reference desk. Funding for this new col-lection was awarded via grant by the Illinois State Library, a Department of the Office of Secretary of State, using funds provided by the U.S. Institute of Museum and Library Services, under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act (LSTA).
